Genya Shinazugawa

A swordsman of the Demon Slayer Corps, belonging to the same cohort as Tanjirou Kamado. He is 16 years old and the younger brother of the Wind Hashira, Genya Shinazugawa. He is a disciple of Himejima Gyoumei. A key character in the Swordsmith Village arc.

He has a large scar on his face, sharp eyes, and sports a Mohawk hairstyle. Initially, he was noted for his rough behavior, and after the final selection, he punched a young girl (Kanata Ubuyashiki) and demanded a Nichirin Sword, which led to Tanjirou breaking his arm in anger. He was about the same height as Tanjirou during the selection, but had grown significantly more muscular when they reunited at the Butterfly Mansion. He meets Tanjirou again at the Swordsmith Village, still holding a grudge over the previous incident, initially showing open hostility. However, they reconcile during battle. From then on, he often adopts a calm and friendly demeanor, and it is revealed in the manga that he apologized to Kanata. Surprisingly, he is quite sensible, often taken aback by the eccentricities of those around him. Although he is stubborn, he is shy due to his age and has a weakness for women and children.

He has no talent for breathing techniques, and his weapon is a special large-caliber gun (a double-barreled, sawed-off shotgun) that fires bullets, with a Nichirin Sword as a secondary weapon, which has not changed color and has a short blade. He has a unique constitution, with a powerful jaw and a special digestive system (taste) that allows him to temporarily use the power of demons by consuming their flesh, making him a unique asset to the Demon Slayer Corps. He fights aggressively with a demon-like regenerative ability.

The second son of the Shinazugawa family. He joined the Demon Slayer Corps to apologize to his brother, Sanemi, who protected him from their demon-transformed mother, despite having no talent and being called a "murderer" by Sanemi. He reunites with his brother during the Pillar Training, but is scolded for his lack of skill and urged to quit the Corps, which angers Sanemi when he reveals his demon-eating ability.

In the Infinity Castle, he tries to help Muichirou Tokitou in his fight against Kokushibou but is easily defeated and critically wounded. He is saved by Sanemi, and after hearing Sanemi's true feelings, he sheds tears. Despite his injuries, he is treated by Muichirou and returns to the battle, learning the "Bloodsucking Tree" Blood Demon Art. He coordinates with Muichirou to stop Kokushibou's movements, contributing to the victory of his teacher and brother, but suffers a fatal injury when he is bisected from the top of his head. Thanks to Himejima's arrangements, he has a final conversation with Sanemi, expressing his apologies and gratitude from the past, and dies as his body disintegrates like a demon's.

Blood Demon Art

Genya's Blood Demon Art. He learns it after consuming the hair of Kokushibou and the broken blade of the Kokuougo. The flesh bullets fired from his transformed, demon-like gun move like living creatures, and when they hit the target, they use it as a seed to grow a tree inside the body, restraining the target. Additionally, the tree absorbs blood and grows, rendering the demon's Blood Demon Art unusable.
