Kanji Ike, along with Sudo and Yamauchi, is referred to as the "Three Idiots Trio" by some. On the other hand, he has a bright personality, excellent communication skills, and is also good at outdoor activities. Initially, he frequently argued with Shinohara, but after helping her when she was being harassed by upperclassmen during Christmas in Volume 7.5 of the first-year arc, he started to become aware of her.
