Yusuke Takeda

A classmate of Fuutarou and others, who becomes a classmate in their third year. His father is the chairman of Asahi High School, and his mother is a doctor. He has a family relationship with the Nakano family and is acquainted with Maruo. He is bound by his parents' education and is told to aim to become a doctor like his mother in the future, but he dreams of becoming an astronaut and is working hard towards that goal. Although he sometimes boasts about his grades, he dislikes cheating and believes in fighting fair and square. In high school tests, Fuutarou consistently held the top spot, so he was always second and viewed Fuutarou as a rival throughout his time in school, but Fuutarou, who was uninterested in others, did not even recognize his existence for a long time. In the third year, he learns that Fuutarou's drop in grades was due to taking care of the five sisters, and to compete on equal terms, he uses a secret agreement between their parents to bet on a change of tutor and compete for rankings in the national unified mock exam. Although he fought well, he was defeated, and he acknowledges Fuutarou with a feeling similar to respect as an eternal rival. After this, he begins to have some degree of interaction with Fuutarou.
