Kaya Saimori

Miyo's half-sister and the second daughter of the Saimori family. She possesses striking beauty but uncritically believes in her parents' values, who favor her and mistreat her sister Miyo. She has a twisted personality, believing that her worth increases when she is praised and her sister is belittled. She is dissatisfied with her fiancé Kouji's affection for Miyo and falls in love at first sight with Kiyoka, developing an unrequited love for him.

From a young age, she has manifested the basic supernatural ability of "seeing spirits" and, though clumsily, can perform basic techniques such as sharing vision through paper-made shikigami. Women with supernatural abilities are often not required to train to the point of being able to perform even basic techniques, so she is pampered in comparison to her sister Miyo, who cannot manifest any abilities. However, she is not particularly impressive as a supernatural being.

In the first volume, she attempts to trap Miyo as part of Kazushi Tatsuishi's plan but is condemned at the end of the volume and sent to serve in a strict household, thus exiting the story. In the seventh volume, she sends a letter from her place of service, which can be interpreted as either a snide remark or encouragement, stating that while she is not satisfied with the outcome of her actions, she believes she is living a much better life than Miyo, who must be struggling after marrying a man like Kiyoka.
