Transfer student. First appeared in Volume 6. Childhood friend of Misaki from elementary school. After losing his parents, he lived with his grandparents in the countryside but transferred to meet his first love, Misaki.

Due to being raised in the countryside, he currently has a dialect in his speech. He has a strong appetite, which made him overweight in the past, but he is now slim due to his countryside diet. He is sensitive to the smell of food and can detect it even through packaging.

His name is Hinata, which can also be read as "Youkou," so Misaki used to call him "You-kun" in elementary school. However, Misaki completely forgot about this, and since his appearance had changed drastically, she didn't recognize him as Hinata when he transferred.

He has high athletic ability but struggles with academics and reportedly doesn't have good grades. He works part-time at a gas station to support himself. In the comic, he starts dating Misaki's sister, Sana, and was already married before Misaki's wedding.
