Becoming a Vampire
Before the world ended, Mahiru wanted to finish the Cursed Gear.
She made contact with Krul Tepes using “Yuu,” “Mikaela Hyakuya,” and “Asuramaru” as bargaining chips.
Krul gave her vampire blood and turned Mahiru into a vampire.
They stayed partners afterwards.
Rebellion and Downfall
Though Mahiru betrayed her family and started a civil war, everything she did was secretly part of the Hiiragi family's plan.
She agreed to die if the Hiiragi family promised not to harm her sister.
She also made sure the world would not end.
At the end, Mahiru killed Shinya Hiiragi, Norito Goshi, Mito Jujo, Sayuri Hanayori, and Shigure Yukimi.
She then pierced her own heart using the demon weapon Noya, becoming the black demon form called "Mahiru no Yoru."
However, according to Byakkomaru, she is not truly a demon.
Feelings and Sacrifice
No matter what form she took, Mahiru kept her feelings for Guren and her sister close.
She hoped both would stay safe, even as she became something more—and less—than human.
