Krul Tepes is the powerful vampire queen who rules the underground city of Sanguinem in Kyoto. She is the Third Progenitor, making her one of the highest-ranking vampires. Four years ago, she saved Mikaela Hyakuya by turning him into a vampire, giving him her blood when he was near death after a battle with Ferid Bathory. Krul treats Mika as her own, acting like his savior, master, and even a parent. She is also the younger sister of Asuramaru. Krul takes risks for her own secret goals, especially involving the Seraph of the End experiments. She cares deeply for both Mika and Yuuichirou Hyakuya, and is known for her striking appearance, immense power, and mysterious, tragic past.

Krul is strong-willed and fearsome. Even vampire nobles are terrified when she gets truly angry. She is much stronger than most vampires and easily overpowers Ferid Bathory, a Seventh Progenitor. Krul does not get along with Lest Karr, another Third Progenitor who rules Europe, as they are rivals for power.
She treasures Mikaela Hyakuya above everyone else and openly favors him, giving him special treatment and gifts normally meant for nobles. Krul also cares about Yuuichirou Hyakuya, calling him "Yuu" and helping Mika save him.
Krul is secretive and works on the Seraph of the End project without permission from the higher-ranked vampires. She is clever and does whatever it takes to complete her goals.
Krul was born into a noble family over a thousand years ago. When she was a child, angry townspeople attacked her home, killed her mother, and set the house on fire. Krul and her older brother Asuramaru were captured and then sold to different slave traders. She used to be human before becoming a vampire.
As a Third Progenitor, Krul is extremely strong. She can easily defeat other vampires, even ones considered very powerful. Krul also has special creatures with her called Arcane, which are said to be restraints made by the First Progenitor.

Krul works secretly on the Seraph of the End project, going against orders from the top vampires. She even secretly collects the orphans from the Hyakuya Orphanage for her experiments, pretending they were killed.
Downfall in Nagoya
During the chaos at Nagoya Airport, Krul is caught off guard by Ferid and treated as a traitor. She orders Mikaela to escape with Yuuichirou Hyakuya. Back in Sanguinem, Ferid tells the vampire leaders about her betrayal. As the city is attacked and taken over by the Japanese Imperial Demon Army, Krul is captured.
Imprisonment and Torture
She is taken to Ferid’s mansion in Osaka and meets League Stafford, the former Second Progenitor. During a fight between League and Urd Geales, Krul escapes from her restraints thanks to League, but is later tortured by Lucal Wesker along with Ferid as punishment for being a traitor. When Yuuichirou and his friends try to rescue her, the mission fails and Krul is sent back to Sanguinem.
Dealings with Other Progenitors
Back in Sanguinem, she denies being a traitor to Urd and points out that following the First Progenitor’s rules has made it hard for vampires to control humans. Lucal’s speech gets Urd to listen to her side, and Krul promises to share what the First Progenitor did to her and her brother if they are brave enough to break the rules.
