Saburouta Toudou

Director of the deepest division of the Japanese branch. Former exorcism school instructor (specializing in magic circles and seal techniques). Upper second-class exorcist. Titles held include Knight of Hand, Knight of Medical Engineering, and Knight of Chanting. 55 years old.

Born into the prestigious Toudou family, which has produced exorcists for generations. Questioning the life set for him by those around him, he falls into demonhood. He steals the "Left Eye of the Impure King" from the deepest part of the branch and tricks a viper into stealing the "Right Eye" from the Kyoto branch office, then flees with him. At the exorcism hall, he fights Daruma and during the battle, he revives the Impure King. However, his true aim was not the revival of the Impure King, but to obtain the power of Garuda, which had sealed the Impure King. He devours Daruma's familiar, Garuda, and forcibly possesses his own body. In his confrontation with Yukio, he overwhelms reinforcements with his formidable power, but due to not fully mastering his abilities, he encounters an unexpected counterattack and retreats in a near draw, then disappears. Later, he is involved in the collection of other demons, and appears in Aomori Prefecture to hand over Hachiro when he is captured. By becoming "the chosen among the chosen," he throws himself into the dry furnace to become the foundation of a new world.

Due to being possessed by a demon, he has high physical abilities and, having gained the power of Garuda, he has acquired the ability to manipulate powerful flames. His regenerative ability is very high, and minor injuries heal instantly, while fire attribute attacks are almost ineffective. However, excessive fire attribute attacks can cause an overload. He is weak to water attribute due to compatibility issues, and while regenerating, his body turns to ash, posing a risk of being washed away in heavy rain. Additionally, due to the possession, his apparent age has reverted to his early twenties.
