Inosuke Hashibira

A Demon Slayer swordsman who is a peer of Tanjirou. He is 15 years old, 164 cm tall, and weighs 63 kg. Abandoned as a child, he was raised by boars and his real name is his given name. His favorite food became tempura after eating the ones made by the old woman Hisa (voiced by Ikuko Tani) from the "House of Wisteria." He wears a bizarre boar's head but has a very handsome, feminine face. He is shirtless, wearing only the Demon Slayer uniform pants, with fur wrapped around his waist and shins. Initially, his Nichirin Swords were two chipped blades he obtained by taking them from other swordsmen, lacking guards and handles, with cloth wrapped around the tangs. He boasts that the swords have a "ripping sharpness." After breaking during the battle on Mount Natagumo, they were reforged by the blacksmith Tecchin as official Nichirin Swords for Inosuke, changing to an indigo-gray color. However, he immediately returned them to their chipped state by hitting them with a rock, angering Tecchin.

He joined the Demon Slayer Corps after surviving the Final Selection without any guidance from a trainer, proving himself as a prodigy. He fights fiercely, driven by a desire to fight, often shouting "Beast Breathing, Beast Breathing" while swinging his sword noisily. Although ignorant and illiterate, he has a rich vocabulary and occasionally uses complex words, influenced by a period when an old man who took care of him read stories and conversed with his grandson. He cannot remember other people's names, making up nicknames for them instead, and only gets the name right about one in seven times.

Though rough and violent, he is mentally fragile and becomes deeply depressed when he loses. However, he becomes highly motivated when he encounters someone stronger or is provoked by others. Growing up without knowing human kindness or compassion, he starts to develop emotionally after spending time with Tanjirou and his group, causing him to feel confused about his changes.

Using his self-taught "Beast Breathing" technique, he can defeat demons. His sense of touch is highly developed, allowing him to detect subtle air movements and even things he is not directly touching. He is particularly adept at sensing gazes and killing intent, enabling him to dodge omnidirectional attacks and sense the activation of Lower Rank One Enmu's Blood Demon Art. Due to his dulled sense of touch when wearing clothes, he keeps his upper body bare. He is resistant to poisons and drugs, and he can dislocate and reattach his joints, and even move his internal organs to avoid fatal injuries.

He participates in the Mount Natagumo, Mugen Train, and Entertainment District arcs. In the Infinity Castle, he encounters Doma and learns about his origin and his mother, Kotoha. He teams up with Kanao to behead Doma, avenging Shinobu and his mother. He also fights in the battle against Muzan and survives until the end. After the final battle, he lives at Tanjirou's house.
