Don Kan'onji

A male medium and celebrity with a strong personality, from his hairstyle to his clothes and character.

His nickname is "Don Kan'onji," and his stage name is "Kan'onji Misao-maru." Ichigo calls him "weird name" whether it's his stage name or real name.

He refers to himself as "I" and is bright yet nonchalant, with considerable mental strength.

He is supposed to be an ordinary human but has an exceptional spiritual sense, seemingly surpassing average Soul Reapers and Quincies in sensing spiritual pressures, as seen when he detected a massive appearance of Hollows in Yokohama from 30 kilometers away during Uryuu's bait scattering incident.

There were many inquiries about who Don Kan'onji is in the popular section "Ask Professor Shuhei" of the Seireitei Communication, but the answer remains unclear, even with the efforts of editor-in-chief Hisagi.

He hosts a super popular TV show "Spirited Away: Assault Journey" with weekly ratings over 25% (the show was canceled in the anime due to ratings issues), and he gathers charismatic popularity with his unique style, crossing his arms like bear paws and laughing loudly with "Bohahahaha!"

He met Ichigo during an incident and learned about Soul Reapers and Hollows. Before meeting Ichigo, he believed that expanding the holes in souls' chests (Hollowfication) was exorcism. Initially, he called Ichigo a comrade during a battle with a demi-Hollow, but later demoted him to "my number one disciple" for some reason.

Later, he invited Ichigo for a drive and bonded over their flashy clothes with Isshin.

Eventually, he formed the Karakura Defense Squad with Karin, Yuzu, and Jinta, and while continuing his entertainment activities, he also fights Hollows in Karakura Town, holding a significant role as "Gold."

He has the strength to defeat Hollows of human size or smaller, but he cannot compare to main characters or members of the Gotei 13. It is not revealed what happens to the souls of the Hollows he defeats.

In the transferred Karakura Town, he rushed to rescue Tatsuki targeted by Aizen but was saved by Rangiku at the last moment, and later acted together with Keigo. During this time, Aizen acknowledged Kan'onji's "courage," and in the novel "Spirits Are Forever With You," Kenpachi Zaraki talks cheerfully about a person believed to be Kan'onji while talking with Aizen in Muken.

In the novel "Spirits Are Forever With You," he plays a leading role and is targeted by a producer who noticed a ghost woman (Roca Paramia) seen in Karakura Town. He moves back and forth at the center of the incident, running through Karakura Town from west to east. His unwavering will and dignity undoubtedly make him a hero.

In the story, he evokes feelings in Roca and is liked by Pikaro, who helps him due to Zaraki's eyepatch attached to Pikaro's body, making Kan'onji a starting point for damaging Zaraki. Later, Pikaro becomes "Karakura White," and Roca becomes "Platinum," with Ishida as "Sky Blue."

After these events, he is marked by the Soul Society as "a human who has built a friendly relationship with the Arrancars" (unbeknownst to him). Also, in the Soul Society, fans of Don Kan'onji are increasing, spread by those he has exorcised and helped to pass on.

His spiritual abilities are mysteriously not derived from Soul Reapers, Hollows, Quincies, fragments of the Spirit King, or Bounts of the Aniol.

Technique "Kan'onji Cannon (Cannonball)"

He fires an explosive ball the size of a ping pong ball using spiritual energy, branded as the ultimate technique of the Kan'onji style. After forming the "Karakura Defense Squad," he uses the "Double Kan'onji Cannon (Golden Cannonball)" with Karin, Yuzu, and Jinta to defeat Hollows.

However, in the anime's "Shinigami Illustrated Picture Book Golden," this Double Kan'onji Cannon was also destroyed by a Hollow.

Technique "Kan'onji Style Super Ultimate Final Technique - Double Kan'onji Cannon (Golden Cannonball)"

The final technique spoken by Kan'onji in the novel version. The details are unknown.

According to Kan'onji, using this technique means "all enemies will bow down, dogs will bark in praise, and the caravan will safely reach Gandhara."
