Kojirō

As a candidate for Tokiyuki's retainers, Yorishige selected a young boy from the Nezu clan, which is affiliated with the Suwa warrior group. Although he is the same age as Tokiyuki, he is acclaimed as the best swordsman of his generation. Yorishige plans to eventually make Kojirō a military commander and have him lead an army.

Tokiyuki calls him "Waka" and speaks in a frank and casual manner, using phrases like "○○ssu." He has a light-hearted and competitive personality, building a friendship-like relationship with Tokiyuki. His main role is to attack the enemies in place of the attack-averse Tokiyuki, finding excitement in the thrill of battling formidable foes, similar to Tokiyuki who finds joy in fleeing. His dedicated efforts in looking after his comrades on the battlefield have earned him substantial trust as the vice-commander of the Nige-Waka group.

His origins are troubled; he was born to the sister of the Nezu family head, Yorinao, who was assaulted by a man close to the Hōjō, a high-ranking courtier. The man who impregnated her did not acknowledge the child, and his mother died giving birth to Kojirō, making him a problematic orphan within the clan. He was given the same name as Yorinao's legitimate son, Nezu Kojirō, and works as his body double.
