Kinki and National Tournament Arc

Kintaro first demonstrates his power in the Kinki Regional Tournament by defeating Hagi, the ace of Makinofuji.

At the Nationals, he overwhelms Shinji Ibu in a single shot, forcing him to retire from the match.

He doesn't get a chance to play in the semifinals but begs for a one-point match against Ryoma Echizen.

The showdown reveals they are evenly matched, with both in a selfless state, and ends in a draw when the tennis ball is split in half.

Later, to buy time for Ryoma's arrival in the finals, he challenges Seiichi Yukimura to a one-point match but is defeated effortlessly.

Post-Nationals & New Prince of Tennis

After the tournament, Kintaro travels alone to Rikkai to challenge Yukimura again.

He finally wins on their 100th match (though it was a draw, Yukimura conceded defeat), leading Genichiro Sanada to praise his potential as being even greater than Ryoma's.

At the U-17 training camp, he plays a practice match against Jūjirō Oni. He easily returns a Black Jackknife with a standard racket but ultimately loses.

He was scheduled to face Senri Chitose in a tie-break match but was disqualified for not showing up.

Upon his return, he defeats Izō Hakamada despite struggling against his "Disappearance" technique, earning the No. 14 badge.

In a rematch against a fully powered Oni, Kintaro is defeated but awakens the "Pinnacle of Effortless Perfection," showing his capacity for further growth.

U-17 World Cup

Kintaro is selected as a representative for Japan's middle school team.

In the preliminary league, he is placed on "Team Bamboo" and defeats Australia's J. J. Dorgias in Singles 3 after Dorgias retires from the match.

He initially planned to compete for the Singles 2 spot against Ryoma in the final selection tournament.

However, after a talk with Shiraishi, he pairs up with Ryūji Ōmagari for Doubles 2, discovering a love for doubles and unlocking his talent in it. They defeat the pairs of Yukimura/Yanagi and Tanegashima/Shiraishi to secure their spot on the finals roster.

In the World Cup finals, he and Ōmagari face Mars de Colon and Seda in Doubles 2.

During the intense match, his treasured wooden racket breaks. However, his Shitenhoji teammates present him with a new racket made just for him. Using it, he evolves his "Pinnacle of Effortless Perfection" further but ultimately loses the match.
