Sabu

Sabu always wears a colorful bomber jacket, the classic look for a street thug. He is usually seen wearing the same clothes, giving off a rough and simple vibe.

Sabu is not very smart and is known in his group for being foolish. He gets nervous easily and even throws up when he is under a lot of stress. Sabu tries to act tough but often messes things up. Others see him as a walking disaster, and his careless actions always seem to bring trouble or bad luck.

His real name is Saburou Tanaka. He is a low-level member, or underling, of Yoshifumi Nitta's group. Sabu knows both Hina and Hitomi Mishima from their encounters. He works odd jobs for the gang but is not trusted by his boss or respected by others.

Sabu does not have any special powers or skills. If he is put under enough pressure, he ends up throwing up instead of handling things bravely.

• Yoshifumi Nitta: Sabu works under Nitta but often disappoints him.
• Hina: Sabu is familiar with Hina and sometimes takes her along on collections.
• Hitomi Mishima: He knows Hitomi and sees her around.
• Anzu: Sabu tries to support Anzu's ramen stand but is tired of eating her ramen three times a week because of Nitta.
• Tanaka (Father) and Shirou (Younger brother): Sabu’s father is a regular at Utako Sakura’s bar, "Little Song," and his younger brother Shirou played guitar in the band “CENTRAL PARK.”
• Other Siblings: Sabu’s oldest and second oldest brothers once kidnapped Hina and tried to demand ransom from Nitta.

Sabu’s actions can have big, unexpected effects. Once, because of his misunderstanding, Kiyoshi Baba and his group almost killed Nitta. If Nitta had actually died, Hina might have destroyed the whole Ashikawa group or even the entire Toshima district out of anger. Sabu also is considered even more of a problem than Utako Sakura, who was officially called a "piece of trash" in the story.

Clumsy Trouble-Maker

Sabu takes Hina along when collecting debts and often ends up in silly situations. When debtors get angry, Sabu is the first to apologize. His mistakes sometimes cause trouble for the whole group.

Causing Bad Luck

Even when Sabu does not mean any harm, his actions bring misfortune to others. He was part of events where Nitta was almost killed and Anzu lost her last bit of money or even had her ramen shop closed because of his mistakes.

Tired Supporter

Sabu has to go with Nitta to eat Anzu’s ramen three times a week to “support” her. He is secretly tired of eating there so often, but he does not speak up against Nitta.

Dangerous Consequences

Sabu’s carelessness once almost led to Nitta being murdered because others misunderstood serious situations. If Nitta had died, Hina might have gone out of control and destroyed the entire Ashikawa group or even all of Toshima.

Sabu is a regular at Utako Sakura's bar "Little Song" along with his father. His family has a history of causing trouble, such as when his brothers kidnapped Hina for ransom. Sabu is clearly a huge troublemaker, often making things worse for everyone around him without even meaning to.
