Warden Craft is a supporting character and secondary antagonist in Shadowverse Flame.
He is one of the Seven Shadows and a Grandmaster ranked player.
He was a scholar who entered a prestigious university at a very young age. There, he became obsessed with the goal of acquiring all the knowledge in the world, to the point of isolating himself from his peers who cared about him. After determining that his goal would take more time than he could live, he decided he must find someone to continue his work.
During the Shadowverse World Ranking, while he was wondering around Nekome City, Warden is challenged by Gentleman. The two have a battle, in which Warden states that the only way to become strong in their shared pursuit of seeking knowledge is to not rely on others for support. Upon winning, Warden says that he hopes to hear their answer the next time they meet.
During the battle against the World Ranking winners in the Shadow Area, Warden has his second battle with Shion where he urges them to give him the answer to whether they should seek knowledge alone or continue with their friends, becoming disappointed when Shion does not get an answer and remains trapped in their doubts. However, when Shion manages to overcome his moves and win, clinging to their new ideal of pursuing an uncertain future, Warden is surprised and satisfied with a result beyond his expectations.
When the Arc Ruler begins its invasion of Nekome City, Warden and the rest of the Seven Shadows are sent to defend the city from the DigiFriends turned into Shade monsters with the Nexa System. However, Warden abandons the mission to pursue his true goal of stealing the Mythical Cards to quench his thirst for knowledge. Upon discovering this, Shion intercepts him and Warden forces them into a battle in which both risk their lives thanks to a program that he himself designed which added sensory feedback even through Shion's digital avatar.
During the battle Warden uses the power of Calamity's Genesis that he stole from Leon Aurenche, explaining to Shion that he intended to make them the successor to his quest for absolute knowledge, but that he now intends to become an immortal god to do it himself. Still, Shion remains steadfast in their desire to preserve their bonds and future, allowing Milady to evolve into Milady, Mystic Empress, giving Shion the victory. After losing and revealing that his system was never actually lethal, Warden comes to the realization that he was never truly alone and that his mistake was always pushing others away instead of including them in his goal. As he comes into terms with Shion, the two are shocked by a large explosion coming from Shadowverse College.
Following the defeat of Wolfram Zerga and the disappearance of the Tree of Woe, Warden leaves the Seven Shadows and returns to the university where he used to do research, with his former colleagues welcoming him warmly.
Warden is a very polite, intellectual, but straightforward man with great instincts and analytical skills. He was able to deduce Shion's true identity through their avatar just by seeing their attitude and reactions.
He is a passionate investigator and has the philosophy that the facts and the truth can only be found by your own power. He notes his similarity to Shion in how they both fight using analysis and calculation, although he considers Shion weak because they rely in their clubmates.
Warden has the sole goal of obtaining all the knowledge that exists, seeing life as worthless if he does not obtain it. As a result he becomed into someone extremely self-centered, openly admitting that he does not care about anyone but himself and his obsession with knowledge, for which he is capable of sacrificing the entire world.
Warden uses a Runecraft deck. His strategy focuses in playing as much spells as possible in order to unlock his ultimate card, End of the World, and claim an automatic victory. This is mainly done through his main follower, Tempest Sorcerer, which allows him to reduce the cost of his best card and restore his play points as he plays more spells. As a second method, he uses the three Sinner Spells to make his way to his 13th turn and unlock End of the World by itself.
Also, if this strategy comes to fail, he resorts to Odious Mage as a contingency measure.
Warden would later include the Ruin Searcher card created by Leon Aurenche that he stole from the Genesis Corporation's data bank, which gives him access to the four Ruin spells that gives a series of effects to the leader, and eventually to a lesser copy of Calamity's Genesis.
