Joe

Joe has red eyes and light silver spiked back hair with red streaks and tufts on both sides. He has a red strand that falls between his eyes and the hair at the lower back of his head is also red. He has three piercings on his left ear. His tail is split in three flame-like feathers. In his myumon form, they resemble feathers with flames on the tips.

He wears a red jacket with a tall collar that has a dark red strap and two buckles. The shoulders have a dark red padding and on both sides under his arms are 2 dark red stripes that wrap around to the back. There are patches with his emblem on both sleeves and on the back, there is a much larger gradient fire-like design. He wears a dark red glove on his right hand and black pants with a black belt. His boots are also black with red straps and have red soles.

Joe is the headstrong leader of DOKONJOFINGER. He comes off serious at first as the oldest of the band, but he actually has a more immature and competitive side, and often joins in on their antics. He's the most level-headed of the band and is not quick to anger unless he is provoked (usually by Sojun).

He has a medical condition that causes him to feel faint, violently cough up blood, and occasionally experience vertigo. Because of this, he repeated his first year multiple times because of poor attendance due to frequent visits to the hospital. Despite this, he tries not to let it discourage him and uses it more as motivation for something he wants to overcome. He has a fiery determination to graduate and puts graduation above everything else because of a promise he made to someone.

Joe tends to feel down when he reminisces about classmates who have already graduated and left him behind, and is a bit awkward around them. During his first year, he was a member of the DOkonjo North High School Baseball Club, but he quit after the team lost a tournament because of him. Because of that, he feels he holds others back, so he's incredibly grateful to his bandmates for wanting him as a part of the band and especially appreciates Yasu and Hachin for always being there to help him.

He has a restrictive diet and is very health conscious because of it. He visits the pharmacy often to stock up on dietary supplement jelly pouch drinks. He's incredibly diligent and wakes up early to eat a healthy and balanced breakfast to make it to school on time. Phoenix myumon are rare and powerful, but Joe is much weaker due to his condition. However, when he takes his medicine, he gains a boost which makes him incredibly powerful. He always has his medical diary on him which holds so much importance to him that when he loses it, he tends to break down into medical fit.

Joe is hardworking and works multiple part time jobs, including working as a chef, archeologist, host at a karaoke bar that Rom frequents, and skyscraper window cleaner. He's also mentioned that he doesn't mind working for the rest of his life.

• Joe's known as DEATH PHOENIX and his special move is FINAL PHOENIX FLASH BIRD. He is known as the school's Strongest Sickly King and many refer to him as the school's "Shadow Leader," which is likely originated from a rumor that he's incredibly powerful and is frequently in and out of school for unknown reasons.

• His character song is Knock Knock Down!!!.

• His natural body temperature is 40°C (104°F) which is high compared to an average person. When he has a fever, he gets so hot that a heat haze surrounds him.

• Joe's right hand glove is made of ultra-high performance heat-resistant material. It's also useful as a heat-resistant pot holder.

• Despite his restrictive diet, he enjoys spicy food. He isn't able to eat foods that are too sweet, but his favorite cookies are egg-flavored Hummingbird cookies because of their soft flavor.

• He's good at telling ghost stories.

• There was previously a phoenix character in a band called "The Magmanias" that was never released. It's possible that the concept inspired Joe's character.
