Character Setting

Edit

Brita is a former Iron-rank adventurer from the city of E-Rantel who later retires to Carne Village, where she serves as the leader of the village watch and trains as a novice ranger.

Brita begins as a low-ranking but hardworking adventurer whose life changes after a fateful encounter with the adventurer Momon, an alias of Ainz Ooal Gown.

Through a series of coincidences involving a rare red potion, she becomes indirectly tied to the schemes of Nazarick and later settles in Carne Village as part of its defense.

Her voice actress in the anime adaptation is Satsuki Yukino.

Although she never becomes a top-tier fighter, she plays a surprisingly important role as a link between several key characters.

Brita is practical, serious, and highly conscious of her own mortality.

She saves money meticulously just to afford a single potion, showing how cautious and realistic she is about the dangers of adventuring.

She is openly critical of workers (independent dungeon explorers), calling them “crazy” and “greedy,” which reflects her grounded worldview.

Despite her bluntness, her reliability and sincerity lead to her being trusted as the leader of the Carne Village watch.

Her trauma after encountering a powerful vampire leaves her with insomnia and lingering fear.

When Agu asks about that incident, she begs him not to bring it up, saying she might “wet herself” if she remembers it, showing how deep her terror runs.

Brita has red hair that is roughly cut and messy, often described as looking like a “bird’s nest.”

Her cheeks are marked by noticeable pockmarks, which stand out as another characteristic feature.

Her facial features are basically good, but her sharp eyes give her a severe, intimidating look.

She wears no makeup at all, and her skin is sun-tanned to a healthy wheat color from constant outdoor activity.

Her body is clearly trained: muscles are well-developed, and her hands are marked with sword calluses from long use of weapons.

Even through her banded leather armor, her large bust is noticeable; in the web version she is stated to be comparable to Narberal Gamma in that regard.

During her active adventurer days, Brita only reached Iron rank, which indicates she is a fairly ordinary fighter by professional standards.

She does not stand out among adventurers as a prodigy or powerhouse.

However, within Carne Village—originally populated by ordinary peasants with no combat experience—her abilities place her at the top tier.

She started as a warrior, allowing her to use both sword and bow, giving her flexible options in battle and patrol work.

As a trainee ranger in Carne Village, she learns tracking, scouting, and wilderness survival skills.

This training lets her operate effectively in forests, guide others during evacuations, and function as a forward scout.

Early Adventurer Life and the Red Potion

Based in E-Rantel, Brita works as an Iron-rank adventurer in a small party.

After extreme penny-pinching and sacrifice, she finally buys a healing potion to protect her life in the field.

During a job, Momon accidentally destroys this hard-earned potion.

Brita demands compensation, and Momon gives her a rare red potion originating from the game world Yggdrasil, which in this new world is considered astonishingly valuable.

Realizing the potion is extraordinary, Brita brings it to Lizzie Bareare, a talented alchemist in E-Rantel.

This single act later becomes the trigger for Lizzie’s grandson Nfirea Bareare and Ainz Ooal Gown (as Momon) to meet, creating a mutually beneficial connection between them.

Without knowing it, Brita becomes the person who bridges Ainz and Nfirea, helping establish a win–win relationship between them.

Although she is a minor adventurer, this quiet contribution influences larger events behind the scenes.

Encounter with the Vampire “Honyopenyoko”

Later, the Adventurer’s Guild hires Brita and her party to scout the base of a mercenary band known as the Sword of Darkness’s killers, sometimes described as a group akin to “The Swords that Spread Death.”

During this reconnaissance mission, they have the terrible misfortune of running into a mysterious vampire calling herself Honyopenyoko, who is actually Shalltear Bloodfallen.

Her party members are slaughtered almost instantly due to the overwhelming difference in power.

In a panic, Brita throws the red potion from Momon at the vampire, hoping desperately to harm or distract her.

Shalltear recognizes the potion’s origin and, seeing Ainz Ooal Gown’s involvement behind it, decides Brita must have some connection to him.

Instead of killing her, Shalltear uses her magic eyes to charm Brita and extract information about Momon and the city.

After draining her for information, Shalltear simply leaves Brita unconscious on the ground.

By sheer luck, this leads to Brita being the only survivor of her entire party.

The trauma of this event is so intense that Brita later develops insomnia and severe fear.

The memory of the vampire encounter becomes a deep-rooted psychological scar that she struggles to overcome.

Retirement and Life in Carne Village

Unable to continue as an adventurer, Brita retires from guild work and looks for a way to survive.

She chooses to move to Carne Village, a rural settlement that later comes under the protection of Ainz Ooal Gown and Nazarick.

In Carne Village, Brita becomes part of the community and is eventually appointed as the leader of the village watch.

Her experience as an adventurer, combined with her serious personality, makes her an ideal choice for organizing defense and drills.

She also begins training as a novice ranger, learning to move quietly through the wilds, track threats, and guide villagers.

Her duties include both day-to-day security and acting as a scout for the village.

During the events of the ninth volume of the light novel, when Barbro Andrean Ield Ryle Vaiself leads Royal Army forces against Carne Village, Brita plays a key role.

Together with Agu, she leads Enri Emmot and the village’s women and children into the Great Forest of Tob, acting as their guide and protector during the evacuation.

Although she never regains her old adventuring life, Brita finds a new purpose as a defender and organizer of Carne Village.

Her story illustrates how even a seemingly ordinary Iron-rank adventurer can leave a meaningful mark on the world through small but pivotal choices.
