Responsible for bass and composing (also handles chorus in the anime version). A second-year, then third-year student at Shimokitazawa High School. Often acts impulsively, which leads to bizarre statements and actions, and enjoys being called a weirdo. Quiet and expressionless with few friends, but occasionally gives sharp and helpful advice to others.

Dislikes bothersome or uninteresting tasks, and when Nijika suggested a welcome party for Hitori, refused by claiming to be "sleepy" or would make up clear lies like "my grandma is crossing the mountain" to avoid going to Hitori's house. However, tends to participate when the whole band plans outings. Also, despite disliking cats and being uncomfortable with them, has helped Keirena prepare for live performances, from coaching to programming.

According to Hitori, not socially awkward but "prefers to be alone," enjoys visiting thrift stores and exploring abandoned places as hobbies. Mostly an indoor person who watches movies at home, but also engages in outdoor activities like visiting thrift stores and ruins. Very particular about music and instruments, becomes talkative when discussing them. Rarely shows agitation, is fine with haunted houses but dislikes thrill rides, and is considered a scaredy-cat by Nijika.

From past experiences, holds the belief that "losing one's individuality is akin to being dead," and thus prefers success over commercial popularity, hoping to achieve success with the band this time. Previously was part of another band but left due to a difference in vision with members who wanted to pursue a more commercial route (the band later disbanded). Disillusioned with band activities at that time, was revitalized by an invitation from his best friend Nijika to form a new band.

Lives in a wealthy family that owns a hospital, but spends most of his allowance on musical instruments, leading to financial troubles so severe that he has resorted to borrowing money from Hitori and eating weeds to stave off hunger. Often makes statements aimed at making a quick profit due to his focus on money. Lacks practical life skills and is often taken care of by Nijika. Academically, has scored zero on high school tests and jokes about having a small brain, but can score nearly perfect marks by cramming overnight (even claimed to aim for Tokyo University). However, tends to forget everything once it's no longer needed, and focusing too much on studies can lead him to forget music-related knowledge. Plans to focus on composing for the band and not pursue university, opting to become a part-timer after high school graduation.

Initially started playing rock music to rebel against overly protective parents who doted on him too much, though he doesn't particularly dislike his parents.

Originally portrayed as a "quirky cute character," which significantly differs from his current personality and design.
