Kokuyō

Kokuyō is a tall, striking beauty with a calm and ever-unchanging expression.

She possesses an extraordinarily large bust, the most prominent among the cast, which she is fully aware holds a certain appeal for men.

She usually wears a traditional shrine maiden outfit and can sprout black wings from her back when needed.

Kokuyō speaks in a flat, monotone manner with very little inflection, and she almost never shows strong emotions on her face.

She has virtually no sense of shame or embarrassment about her body, and as a result, she will casually offer to let someone grope her chest as a form of apology or thanks.

Most of the time, these offers are blocked by those around her or the recipient becomes too flustered, so they almost always end as unfulfilled attempts.

She is completely indifferent to social norms and general common sense, moving through life in an airy, unflappable, and unfazed way.

Kokuyō is an extreme glutton—whenever she appears, she is almost always either eating something or working a job to cover her own food expenses.

After their shrine collapsed, Kokuyō moved into the Kagami household together with Kukuri, and the two now live there as freeloaders.

She takes on part-time jobs at various eateries to help with shrine repairs, and her presence alone guarantees a noticeable boost in customer turnout.

However, the sheer amount of food she consumes as staff meals is so outrageous that she ends up devouring most of her own paycheck, causing her to drift from workplace to workplace.

To make up for the endless financial shortfall, Kukuri is forced to borrow money from a man named Kanayama in exchange for enduring his harassment—but that money, too, is quickly swallowed up by Kokuyō’s eating habits.

When it comes to Kukuri, Kokuyō’s remarks can be startlingly blunt, such as muttering that Kukuri is “a god so insignificant there’s barely a single line about her in the *Nihon Shoki*” or that “only prominent deities recorded in the *Kojiki* really matter.”

Despite those cutting words, her true loyalty runs deep: she unhesitatingly threw herself at Kanaka Kagami in an attempt to avenge Kukuri.

After Kukuri was defeated and a three-year barrier was erected, Kokuyō went on to serve at the Daigin Shirohane Gi Shrine.

While she rarely lets it show on the surface, Kokuyō has taken a personal liking to Kazuya Kagami and is more than willing to act on it—going so far as to proactively offer him her breast to suckle.

Her casual approach to this is best summed up by one of her typical lines: “That was unfortunate of me. But I have no money—go ahead and grope my breasts.”

As a crow incarnation, Kokuyō is capable of flight by manifesting large black wings from her back.

She can also communicate with Kukuri through what appears to be a form of telepathy.

Additionally, she possesses a fair degree of skill in hand-to-hand combat against human opponents.
