Kage is a mysterious, shadow-like creature with eyes, known as the last survivor of the feared assassin clan, the Shadow Clan. Despite Unknown’s cynical personality, Kage stands out as the only one who can truly understand Bojji’s speech and has a fiercely loyal heart.
Origins and Past
Kage’s entire clan was brutally massacred by the army of Geslan when Unknown was just a child. After surviving this tragedy, Kage lived a life as a petty thief on the fringes of society.
A chance encounter with Bojji revealed Bojji’s generous nature, inspiring Kage to vow unwavering loyalty to him, promising to always be by his side no matter what. Although Kage is non-human, Unknown was able to shop in stores and move through society without much notice at first.
Once the Shadow Clan’s notorious reputation became widely known, people began to shun and ostracize Kage, making social acceptance much harder.
Role in the Story
At the end of the first part, right after Bojji was recognized as king, Kage quietly left the kingdom without telling anyone. Bebin eventually tracked down Kage, leading to a heartfelt reunion and the decision to rejoin Bojji's journey.
In the second part, when Kage learned that Geslan was the mastermind behind the invasion of the Kingdom of Kuhya, Unknown was asked by Lingi to cooperate. However, burdened by guilt for involving Bojji due to Unknown’s own desire for revenge, Kage decided to decline the request.
Kage is deeply cynical and often displays a mischievous streak, but at Unknown’s core is unwavering loyalty, especially to Bojji. Having witnessed the worst of humanity, Kage is quick to trust those who show real kindness, and fiercely protects those Unknown cares about.
Kage admires Bojji’s capacity for empathy and strength, forging a unique bond where Unknown acts both as companion and confidant. Unknown's relationship with Bebin and Lingi is defined by mutual respect, though Kage sometimes feels isolated by Unknown’s dark past.
Kage can perfectly understand Bojji’s words, a trait almost unique in the world. Being from the Shadow Clan, Kage possesses skills honed for stealth and survival, making Unknown valuable in reconnaissance and support roles during the group’s adventures.
