Mao Lu-Shen

Primarily pilots the Zegapain Garuda and is considered the ace of the Oceanus. His father was apparently a sponsor of I.A.L Corporation, which was deeply involved in the birth of the Celebram and Gards-orm. According to Ryoko, his appearance is "handsome" or beautiful, and his personality can be described in one word as "cool and suave." However, this demeanor is not a conscious affectation but rather a calm attitude stemming from his good upbringing. In reality, he is very passionate.

He was Kyo's best friend "before" and holds "special" feelings for the "current" Kyo as well. He is deeply impressed by the way the "current" Kyo lives and continues to hold a strong admiration for him. With his exceptional insight, he was the first among the members of the Oceanus to uncover the secret shared by Shima and Shizuno, and he is trying to get closer to the truth of the world.
