Yuuji Itadori

The protagonist of this work, a first-year student at the Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College, born in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture on March 20, 2003. He possesses extraordinary physical abilities. Originally a non-sorcerer, he acquired cursed energy after swallowing Sukuna's finger and was admitted to the Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College thanks to Satoru Gojou's arrangement. Due to the influence of Sukuna's finger, there are remnants of a second pair of eyes beneath his own.

He has a cheerful and honest personality, friendly towards everyone. Influenced by his grandfather's last words, he is obsessed with the idea of a "proper death" and always tries to save people around him, including his friends and civilians, as much as he can. Despite being underage, he has a habit of playing pachinko. His type is Jennifer Lawrence.

He specializes in close combat using his physical abilities and has mastered a punching technique called "Divergent Fist." Initially, he struggled to control his cursed energy, but improved after receiving guidance from Aoi Todo during an exchange event, experiencing Black Flash five times in one day. He also has a high resistance to poison, having survived eating the highly poisonous Sukuna's finger and managed to suppress Sukuna while maintaining his self-awareness after Sukuna incarnated, making him the "Vessel of Sukuna," a role that hadn't appeared for a thousand years due to Sukuna's sealing. This also makes him a radar for finding other fingers, although it doesn't always work conveniently due to Sukuna's personality. Additionally, hosting Sukuna's soul allows him to naturally perceive the outlines of souls and deal direct damage to Cursed Spirits without using cursed techniques, and he is completely unaffected by the "Idle Transfiguration" of Cursed Spirits due to Sukuna's soul.

Separately, a phenomenon occurs where opponents who have fought Itadori receive false memories suggesting they had a positive relationship with him in the past, but this is not an ability of Itadori himself, as stated by the author.

He was raised by his grandfather, with no parents around (their life or whereabouts are unknown), and he shows no interest when his grandfather brings them up. It was later revealed that his mother's body had been taken over by a curse. During the Shibuya Incident, he was broken by a series of events including his defeat to Choso, a massacre caused by Sukuna taking over, the death of Nanami, and the death of Nobara Kugisaki. However, he was encouraged by Todo's words, challenged and defeated Mahito. After the Shibuya Incident, he became a target for execution again due to Gojou's sealing, wandering Tokyo with Choso, fighting Cursed Spirits, and later joined Megumi Fushiguro in aiming to settle the Culling Game, seeking help from the scales to unseal Satoru Gojou and help Megumi's sister leave.

Divergent Fist: A technique where cursed energy is wrapped around the fist to strike an opponent, causing a second impact immediately after the first due to the cursed energy colliding. This technique was born from his raw power and immature control of cursed energy, which leaves a trail in its path, creating an unpredictable flow of cursed energy that is difficult to read. Gojou and Nanami moderately appreciate it, but Todo pointed out during the exchange event that it wouldn't work against Special Grade curses. After experiencing Black Flash, he lost the ability to use it due to improved control, but it reemerged during a fight with Choso in Shibuya, and he mastered it as his own technique.
