Jen May-Yu is a 15-year-old from Shanghai and the older twin sister of Jen May-Yen. She plays an important role as a Wizard for Mao Lu-Shen, and sometimes as Wizard for Kyo Sogoru. She lost her family during a fight with Gards-olum and the failed operation to reclaim the Shanghai Server. This experience made her act cold towards Kyo, especially after he made an insensitive comment. However, they eventually reconciled after spending time together.
Jen May-Yu has a distinctive bob-cut hairstyle, different from her twin, Jen May-Yen.
She is known for having a tougher and colder personality. Kyo once described her to Ryoko Kaminagi as "the one with the worse personality" among the twins. Even though she often acts strict, her reactions under pressure can show her more sensitive side.
Jen May-Yu comes from Shanghai and used to be the poster girl at her family's restaurant, Mei Fang Restaurant, before the Olm Virus outbreak. She does not like Chinese food, possibly because of something that happened in the past.
She is mainly the Wizard for Mao Lu-Shen, helping him pilot the Zega known as Garuda. She has also worked as Kyo Sogoru's Wizard and piloted the Altair.
She is the older twin of Jen May-Yen. Jen May-Yu and Kyo Sogoru had a rocky relationship due to his words after the loss of her family, but they made peace after working together more closely. In the Drama CD, it is revealed she actually had a crush on the "previous" Kyo.
- She hates Chinese food despite being from Shanghai and working at her family's Chinese restaurant before.
- When extremely stressed during battles, she sometimes cries and can't carry out her duties well as a Wizard.
- Her hairstyle is a bob-cut, making her easy to recognize compared to her twin.
Loss of Family and Resentment toward Kyo
Jen May-Yu lost her family in a battle with Gards-olum during the failed attempt to reclaim the Shanghai Server. Kyo, who did not understand the situation, made a careless comment that hurt her deeply. Because of this, she treated him harshly for a long time.
Reconciling With Kyo
Later, Jen May-Yu had to work as Kyo Sogoru's Wizard. During this time, they got to understand each other better and eventually made up.
Feelings for the "Previous" Kyo
While the anime does not cover this, the Drama CD reveals she once had feelings for the original Kyo. The reason she was especially angry with the "current" Kyo in the anime was because of the difference between him and the previous version she liked.
Differences in the Movie
In the movie "Zegapain ADP," unlike in the Drama CD, Jen May-Yu was already with Kyo, Jen May-Yen, and Mao Lu-Shen before Kyo became a Celebrant.
- Unlike her sister, Jen May-Yu particularly dislikes Chinese food.
- Her freeze-up under intense battle stress is shown in the Drama CD but not the anime.
