Atsushi Maeda

A classmate in Class 1-2. A so-called delinquent. His friends call him "Acchan." He tries to bully Sakamoto, who stands out in the same class, but Sakamoto coolly avoids it, making him stand out even more. Frustrated by this, he and his friends Mario and Kenken plan to seriously deal with Sakamoto, but they accidentally start a small fire due to careless smoking, putting them in a pinch. They are saved by Sakamoto's secret technique.

Since this incident, Atsushi has developed a sort of admiration for Sakamoto, often interacting with him in a way that's hard to tell if they're friends or not. As a result of their interactions, he quits smoking and instead starts playing with soap bubbles to witness Sakamoto's unique skills.

In the final episode, he is instigated by Fukase to try to kill Sakamoto as instructed, but ends up falling himself and is saved by Sakamoto, leading to a tearful apology. During Sakamoto's farewell due to his transfer, he tearfully shouts, "We'll be friends for life!"
