Sae Chabashira

Class D (Horikita Class) homeroom teacher. She often displays behavior and attitudes unbecoming of an educator, such as taking a harsh stance towards Class D students and showing no remorse when her mistakes are pointed out. She has known Hoshinomiya and Majima since high school. During her high school days, when she aimed for Class A as part of Class D, she felt a lasting sense of guilt for losing the goal of reaching Class A due to her own mistake. Even now, as the homeroom teacher of Class D, she is passionate about turning her class into Class A. Until now, she had suppressed her ambitions publicly due to not being blessed with capable students, but after hearing about Kiyotaka from Manabu, and with talents like Suzune, Kushida, Hirata, and Koenji in the same class, she reignited her ambitions. She uses Suzune, who is similarly fixated on Class A, to influence Kiyotaka to aim for Class A.

Character Design

According to Tomose, he wanted to bring back a teacher-like character from the bishoujo game "Double Sensei Life" as a form of revenge.

Evaluation

In the "This Light Novel is Amazing! 2016" section "Heartfelt Memorable Quotes!", a line from the first volume of the first-year arc where Yousuke Hirata says, "Chabashira-sensei. We don't recall being explained such a thing," and Sae Chabashira's response, "Oh. You can't understand unless it's explained to you?" was featured. In "10 Charming Ponytail Beauties," a selection of ten female anime characters who look great with ponytails announced by MangaPedia, she was chosen as one of them.
