Edit

Record of Ragnarok III is the third season of the anime series *Record of Ragnarok*, based on the manga by Azychika, Shinya Umemura, and Takumi Fukui, and is scheduled for exclusive worldwide release on Netflix starting December 10, 2025.

Plot Background

The series continues the "Ragnarok" tournament, a 13-round battle between gods and humanity where the combined fate of all humans hangs in the balance.

Following a shocking victory for humanity, the stakes are higher than ever as the score sits at 4 wins for the gods and 5 wins for humanity at the end of the second season. For this pivotal season, the story adapts the thrilling and emotionally charged next rounds of the manga, introducing new legendary combatants.

Release Timeline

The first season premiered on Netflix in June 2021, with the second season following in two parts released in January and July 2023. *Record of Ragnarok III* will be streamed globally on December 10, 2025, continuing the saga with a total of 15 episodes.

Main Characters and Valkyries

Brunhilde (voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro): The eldest of the Valkyrie sisters who proposed Ragnarok to save humanity.

Göll (voiced by Tomoyo Kurosawa): The youngest Valkyrie, a trainee who assists her eldest sister while being constantly terrified by her provocative attitude.

Hrist (voiced by Yuu Kobayashi): The second Valkyrie sister whose dual nature allows her to forge into legendary swords.

Geirölul (voiced by Mai Todo): The fifth Valkyrie sister known as the "Spear-Wielding Charger," the proudest and most frightening of the sisters when angered.

Göndul (voiced by Misako Tomioka): The ninth Valkyrie sister who transforms into an automaton suit for the human genius Nikola Tesla.

Alvitr (voiced by Shiori Mikami): The tenth Valkyrie sister who became the protective armor for Qin Shi Huang.

Human Fighters

Nikola Tesla (voiced by Makoto Furukawa): The brilliant scientist wielding the "Super Automaton β" powered by Göndul’s life energy. He opposes the gods’ decision to destroy humanity, calling it an "abandonment of creation."

Leonidas (voiced by Hiroshi Shirokuma): The rebellious Spartan king who despises Apollo and wields Geirölul’s transforming shield. He enters the arena purely for personal vengeance against the sun god.

Qin Shi Huang (voiced by Kaito Ishikawa): The first emperor of a unified China who can perceive the flow of energy known as "stars" despite covering his eyes. His divine armor was forged by Alvitr.

Soji Okita (voiced by Tsubasa Yonaga): A spirited and childlike Shinsengumi prodigy who is the "strongest manslayer" in human history. He wields a katana forged by the Valkyrie Skalmöld and is always eager for his turn to fight.

Divine Fighters

Beelzebub (voiced by Daisuke Namikawa): The dark god of the flies, a cursed mad scientist whose "Demon's Vibration" makes him one of the most feared and tragic beings in the heavens. His staff, which amplifies his vibrations, was a gift from Hades.

Apollo (voiced by Kenichi Suzumura): The narcissistic but incredibly powerful sun god of the Greek pantheon. He fights with the threads of Artemis, believing that knowing one’s limits allows one to surpass them.

Hades (voiced by Ryoutarou Okiayu): The stoic and regal King of the Netherworld who enters the tournament to avenge his brother, Poseidon. His power is so absolute that other gods trust him implicitly to fulfill any oath.

Susano'o no Mikoto (voiced by Kenichi Suzumura): The Japanese god of swords and storms. A passionate warrior who secretly spent thousands of years learning every human swordsmanship style, he personally insists on fighting the human swordsman Okita.

Loki (voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka): The cunning and shape-shifting Norse god of mischief. Beneath his playful and lighthearted demeanor lies a fervent battle mania and a deep-seated fury towards traitors.

Other Divine Figures

Heimdall (voiced by Yukihiro Nozuyama): The announcer of Ragnarok who dramatically introduces the combatants to the arena.

Ares (voiced by Hinata Tadokoro): The Greek god of war who often provides comic relief as he struggles to comprehend the superhuman feats taking place in the arena.

Hermes (voiced by Junichi Suwabe): Butler to Zeus, a sophisticated and cunning god who maintains a calm, analytical presence while composing funeral dirges for the eliminated souls.
