Edward V

Appears in Season 1, Episode 16. The ghost of Edward V, a king of England from about 400 years ago. A boy who succeeded to the throne upon his father's death, but was imprisoned in the Tower of London along with his brother Richard by relatives plotting to usurp the throne, and subsequently went missing. (In the story) The brothers were assassinated there, but their souls returned to Ludlow Castle, where they had lived until just before ascending to the throne, and remained for 400 years. At the time of their murder, they lost their lives due to the betrayal of a gatekeeper, which is why they detest lies above all else.

Ciel, who became the new owner of this ancient castle, planned to remodel it into a hotel, but the work was hindered by the appearance of ghosts. When Ciel and his team replace the frightened contractors and visit the castle, the ghosts of Edward and others appear. Edward, who insists he has been the lord of the castle for 400 years and refuses to yield, treats Ciel as a count and guest, considering himself still the "king." The two engage in a game of chess, but Edward, who can freely manipulate the shapes of all things, defeats Ciel and takes Sebastian for himself, starting to serve the brothers as a butler of the English royal family.
