Height: 195 centimeters (174 centimeters in first year of middle school) / Weight: 79 kilograms / Birthday: July 7 / Family: Father, Mother, Younger Sister
First-year student at Shūtoku High School. Position: SG. Jersey number: 6 (11→7 in middle school).
Former vice-captain of Teikō's basketball team and the best 3P shooter of the "Generation of Miracles."
Known for his distinctive way of speaking, ending sentences with "〜(na) no da yo," his under-rim glasses, and long lower eyelashes. His eyesight is so poor that he can't distinguish between a lion ornament and a person without his glasses.
He has a high pride and is unsociable, but he gives advice to those he acknowledges and often attends other schools' games in disguise, showing a loyal side. According to Takao, he is a "tsundere." He is quite oblivious to romantic matters, such as Momoi's advances towards Kuroko, and seems to prefer older women.
Often seen with Takao, he rides in a rickshaw pulled by Takao's bicycle. Despite their bickering and Takao's laid-back nature, they recognize each other's abilities and showcased a combination move in the WC match against Rakuzan, almost securing a win. Though he doesn't get along well with Kuroko, he respects Kuroko's ability to remain a regular player at Teikō despite his low physical abilities. Initially, he didn't understand why Akashi valued Kuroko, but he came to understand through their matches.
A fatalist who lives by the motto "Do your best and leave the rest to fate." He is obsessed with the horoscope segment on the TV show "Oha Asa" and always keeps the day's lucky item with him, often finding that things go his way. He harbors a secret rivalry with Akashi, challenging him in shogi during breaks and in various ways during regular tests, but never won. Being close to Akashi, he was one of the first to notice Akashi's other personality. After the WC opening ceremony, he discussed Akashi's abilities before they fully developed with Kuroko. Outside of club activities, he meticulously tapes his dominant left hand's fingers. He is skilled at playing the piano.
His unique and greatest weapon is the "super long-distance 3P shot" that can hit from anywhere on the court, but he is also skilled in other areas. Initially, he played solo, believing only in himself, but after narrowly losing to Seirin's team play, he started to embrace team play driven by his obsession with victory and revenge. Unlike most of the "Generation of Miracles," he never skipped practice or toyed with opponents, and while he didn't reprimand Akashi or Aomine for their problematic behavior, he criticized them, saying, "I can't get along with people who don't give their all." Despite his intellectual appearance, he has a straightforward personality built on hard work, and his focus on 3P shots stems from the simple belief that "scoring three points at a time is stronger than scoring two."
In the Jabberwock match in 'EXTRA GAME,' he teamed up with Akashi's other personality and executed a 3P shot combination that he could originally only perform with Takao, astonishing their opponents.
