Wei Liu

Wei Liu is very tall, standing at 203 cm and weighing 91 kg. He is a second-year student at Yosen High. His uniform number is 11. His big build makes him one of the largest players at his school.

Wei Liu is extremely honest and trusting, sometimes believing things people say too easily. He listens quickly to others, especially Fukui and often gets caught in his jokes. He likes to tease the team captain, Kenichi Okamura, together with Fukui, even though Okamura is his senior.

He is a very cheerful person, always smiling and trying to make friends. He struggles with Japanese and often ends his Japanese sentences with "aru" because he was tricked into thinking it is popular in Japan.

Wei likes people who smile a lot and enjoys spending time talking with his family.

Wei Liu comes from China and is a second-year student at Yosen High School in Japan. He started playing basketball because he thought his tall height would help him in the sport.

He lives away from his family, but calls them during his free time. At school, he is not part of any committee and does not do any extra club work. He has a big family, with a father, mother, and four younger brothers.

Wei Liu plays as a small forward (SF) for the Yosen High basketball team. His top strength is rebounding. He is great at guarding under the basket and making sure opponents do not score easily. While he is very tall, his legs are not very fast. He likes swimming and is also good at breakdancing. He is best at math in school.

Wei Liu has a special connection with Kensuke Fukui, the person who taught him to speak Japanese with "aru." He often teams up with Fukui to play pranks on Kenichi Okamura, their team captain.

He looks up to Papa Mbai Siki, another basketball player he admires.

Wei Liu is one of the super tall players at Yosen High. He moved from China to Japan and quickly became known for his size and honesty.

The "Aru" Joke

After coming to Japan, Wei was told by Kensuke Fukui that Japanese people add “aru” to the end of sentences. Wei trusted Fukui and started speaking that way. It quickly became his unique speaking style and everyone now knows him for it.

Role on the Basketball Team

Wei became famous for his strong defending under the basket. He helps Yosen High make sure their rivals cannot score easily. Even though he is not the fastest, his height and rebounding skills make him a key player.

Team Relationships

Frequently, Wei teams up with Fukui to play tricks on Okamura, the team captain. He doesn’t always understand new words, but he does know what “tsundere” means, even if he doesn’t know the meaning of TPO (time, place, occasion).

Life at School

Wei does not join school committees and spends his time outside of basketball talking to his family in China. He joined basketball because he believed his height could help the team.
