Ayano Sugiura

A 14-year-old second-year middle school student and the vice president of the student council. She has long, reddish-purple hair tied in a ponytail. She often unconsciously uses unique puns involving place names (like "Fine Buckingham"), which aren't very good, and while they are poorly received by Kyōko and others, Yui finds them amusing.

She is hardworking and excels academically, always aiming to top her class in tests, viewing Kyōko as a rival. However, she is secretly in love with Kyōko, and her rivalry is just a facade for her true feelings, making her a typical tsundere. She often visits the amusement club under the pretense of monitoring them due to a room occupation issue, but in reality, she uses it as an excuse to see Kyōko.

She is shy and dislikes standing out, and at the beginning of school, she kept to herself without talking to anyone. However, in the original series volume 12, she is shown to have a caring side, sharing pudding with Sakurako. She often takes a firm stance against the amusement club about the use of the tea room, but in reality, she has no such intentions; in fact, Ayano's presence is a major reason why the amusement club continues to exist. According to Chinatsu, she is said to have a good figure, and among the characters, she does have a larger bust.

In the popularity poll in volume 2 of the original series, she tied with Akari for third place.
