A strong-armed, powerful shortstop. During his Little Senior days, he played against Haruka Kiyomine and Kei Kaname's team, but a mistake during that time led to him developing the yips, making him unable to throw to first base, which caused him to dye his hair blonde, get into fights, and smoke, leading him to temporarily quit baseball. Although he is earnest at heart, his impulsive nature often makes him the target of teasing by Shunpei Chihaya.

The yips were addressed by Kei Kaname suggesting a bounce throw, which enabled him to throw to first base again. During the Teitoku game, his bounce throws resulted in infield hits, but he overcame the yips during the game.

He was competing with Shunpei Chihaya for the leadoff spot, but in his sophomore year, he was placed fourth in the lineup due to the coach's desire to have a strong cleanup.
