Eris

Eris has a gentle and elegant appearance. She is often described as beautiful, with an air of refinement that makes her different from Aqua. Even though she is a goddess, she is sensitive about her flat chest, which she finds embarrassing, especially when disguised as Chris.

Eris is calm, polite, and graceful. She is the opposite of Aqua, who is loud and wild. Eris always treats others with respect and shows kindness, especially to Kazuma. She is dedicated to her duties but sometimes gets flustered when teased about her body.

Eris is the goddess of fortune and the main object of worship in the Eris Church. She is the junior goddess to Aqua. Her job is to guide those who have died to the afterlife. Sometimes, she descends to the human world as Chris, a female thief, to collect holy relics that could be misused.

Eris can use many support spells, just like Aqua. Her most famous one is the luck-enhancing spell called Blessing, which she claims is even better than Aqua’s. She can also revive people and guide souls to the next life. She is very strong when fighting demons or the undead.

• Kazuma Satou greatly respects and likes Eris, considering her the true main heroine and even proposing to her.
• Aqua is her senior goddess but often causes trouble for Eris.
• As Chris, she interacts with other adventurers without revealing her true identity.

Eris secretly comes to the world as Chris, a female thief. She tries to collect lost legendary items so they don’t get used for evil.

She worries a lot about her flat chest, especially when she is Chris, which leads to many funny situations.

She is the only goddess Kazuma respects.

Guiding Kazuma After Death

Every time Kazuma dies in the other world, Eris appears to guide him. She is always calm and respectful, making a good impression on Kazuma, especially compared to Aqua.

The Incident with the Winter Shogun

When Kazuma is killed by the Winter Shogun in volume 2, Eris tries to send him back to be reborn in Japan, following the rules of heaven. But Aqua breaks the rules and forcefully brings Kazuma back to life. Eris is forced to allow this, though she has to deal with the consequences afterward.

Reviving Kazuma Multiple Times

Eris brings Kazuma back to life several more times: after he falls from a tree in volume 4, gets killed by kobolds in volume 6, and is eaten by a hydra in volume 7. She also revives him after he explodes with Sylvia in the movie "Legend of Crimson," though the sight makes her feel sick.

Revealing Her Identity

At the end of volume 7, Kazuma finds out that Eris and Chris are the same person. Most of her friends, like Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness, do not know this secret. Eris even ends up helping Aqua’s rival church as a shop girl, which is ironic since she is the goddess of her own church.

The Eris Festival

During the Eris Festival, Eris joins a beauty contest under her real name, shocking her believers. Because of this, the town of Axel is later made a holy place for the Eris Church.

Showing Her True Goddess Side

In volumes 12 and 13, Eris shows her serious side as a goddess. She becomes ruthless when she sees demons or undead, sometimes even more than Aqua, and attacks them fiercely. She attacks Count Zereschild even though he hasn’t really done anything wrong.

Kazuma's Main Heroine

Eris is the only heroine that Kazuma proposes to. Fans also voted her as the second most popular character in a special poll for the anime.

Eris’s age is unknown. She is respected and loved by both Kazuma and her followers for her kindness and strength, but she hides her worries about her flat chest. She continues to fulfill her goddess duties while also protecting the world as Chris.
