Shouto Todoroki

A male student of U.A. High School Class 1-A, characterized by his half-white, half-red hair, a scar around his left eye, and heterochromia. Born in Shizuoka Prefecture, he is one of the students who entered the school through recommendations. He is the son of the No. 2 hero, Endeavor.

Bakugo calls him "Half-and-Half" because of his hair color.

He is handsome and ranks at the top of U.A. High School in terms of both his "Quirk" and physical abilities.

Normally, he has a cool demeanor and doesn't show much emotion, but deep inside, he harbors a strong passion to become the No. 1 hero. However, he also feels responsible for the injuries Midoriya and Iida sustained during the Stain incident during their internship, thinking of himself as a "hand crusher." When told that his smile could easily win over women, he took it literally, thinking that his smile could cause someone to die, showing his naive and clueless side.

He was born from a "Quirk" marriage arranged by Endeavor, who wanted to create a hero surpassing All Might. According to Endeavor, he is a "masterpiece" unlike his other children. His mother suffered mentally from the unhappy marriage, and Shoto remembers her both as a kind figure and sadly crying. To protect Shoto from Endeavor's harsh training expectations, his mother intervened and was subjected to violence, eventually scalding Shoto's left face with boiling water, leaving scars around his left eye. This led Shoto to despise his father, who always made his mother cry.

At the end of the sports festival, he decided to "settle his past" and aim to become the hero he wants to be, visiting his hospitalized mother after a long time to reconcile. Although he still harbors resentment, he begins to acknowledge and accept his father's abilities and judgment as the No. 2 hero.

His hero costume, made for the clothing deduction, was initially designed only for the use of his ice powers, with insulation features to support it, covering his left side with ice. After fighting Midoriya in the sports festival, he updated his costume to support both his burning and freezing abilities. The costume, simple in design like a jacket or vest, has features that adjust his body temperature by cooling or heating. He chose the hero name "Shoto," playing on his own name.

Initially indifferent to others, after reconciling with his mother, he began interacting with his classmates, encouraging Yaoyorozu to regain her confidence during the end-of-term test exercise, and facing challenges such as the confrontation with Stain and the rescue of the kidnapped Bakugo. Initially hostile towards Midoriya due to the incident at USJ where Midoriya went to save All Might and stories he heard from Uraraka and Iida, he eventually became good friends with him after Midoriya helped him change during the sports festival.

"Quirk": Half-Cold Half-Hot

He can freeze with his right side and burn with his left side. He can freely create massive blocks of ice and flames. The ice, inherited from his mother, and the flames, from his father, can be shaped to some extent. He can freeze entire buildings or incapacitate multiple enemies at once, making it a very powerful and wide-ranging attack. However, it is noted that the power can be too strong, making attacks crude, and the extreme nature of his "Quirk" requires careful management.

After "Quirk" training, he can use ice and fire simultaneously, though it slows his movements.
