Seikuu Arai

The son of Seikuu, a swordsmith who inherited his father's skills. He refers to himself as "boku." After the enforcement of the sword prohibition law, he lives by making household tools like kitchen knives and sickles. He resented his father for only making murderous swords and vowed never to create swords that could harm people. However, through a conversation with Kenshin, he learned the true meaning of swords and realized his misunderstanding after reading a poem that could be seen as his father's final words. With thoughts of a peaceful era to come, he entrusted the reverse-blade sword, Shinuchi, to Kenshin.
