Darius Silva Ganius is a human male noble from the Asura Kingdom, serving as a high-ranking minister and the leading aristocrat of the First Prince faction, known as a politically gifted yet utterly corrupt statesman.
Darius Silva Ganius is a senior minister of the Asura Kingdom and the foremost noble supporting First Prince Grabell Zafin Asura.
He is infamous as a symbol of greed, lust, and corruption, while simultaneously being praised as an indispensable political operator who helped the current Asura king ascend the throne.
To Ariel Anemoi Asura and her faction, he is a major political enemy.
He repeatedly sends assassins after Ariel and ultimately drives her into exile from the kingdom.
Darius also manipulates the Boreas Greyrat household by bribing their servants.
This involvement leads to an attempted kidnapping of Eris Boreas Greyrat, tying him directly into the fates of several central characters.
Despite his reputation, Darius finances the search parties formed after the Fittoa Region Displacement Incident.
Although his motive is to gain control over the Fittoa region, he still contributes money and support to reconstruction efforts.
He is voiced by Taketora in adaptations.
Darius is a middle‑aged man with an extremely obese and flabby body.
He has sagging cheeks, lustful narrowed eyes, and is generally considered grotesque in appearance.
His look is often described with animalistic insults such as “pig monster” and “fat raccoon.”
These cruel nicknames reflect how despised he is, not just for his personality but also for his outward appearance.
Darius is the textbook example of an evil noble drenched in corruption.
He maintains ties with thieves and other criminal organizations and is deeply involved in underworld dealings.
He frequently has noble girls kidnapped and turns them into sex slaves.
His personality is driven by an insatiable appetite for both power and carnal pleasure.
He excels at manipulating people and setting up elaborate traps.
Using these skills, he has destroyed numerous political rivals and climbed his way to the position of high minister.
However, according to Reida Ryia, a Water God–class swordswoman who trained at the same dojo as him in their youth, he was once very different.
As a child, Darius had an honest, straightforward sense of justice despite his unattractive face.
In the past, he even risked himself to save Reida when she was about to have her arms and legs cut off in retaliation by nobles.
This suggests that his later depravity is a result of accumulated trauma and disillusionment.
Darius grew up being mocked and belittled because, aside from his intelligence, he had no talent in anything he tried.
The brutal power struggles within the Asura Kingdom and the painful experience of divorce due to his wife’s infidelity further twisted his character.
Despite his moral rot, his ability as a politician is undeniable.
He has repeatedly cleaned up the messes left by the king and other ministers, stabilizing the kingdom’s politics from the shadows.
Many within the court say, “The current king of Asura could not have become king without Darius.”
This recognition is one reason First Prince Grabell holds him in such high regard and relies heavily on him.
He also successfully tackles crime issues in and around the royal capital.
Using both legal and illegal means, he suppresses criminal activity to maintain order—though always in ways that reinforce his own power.
In combat terms, Darius lacks talent with the sword and has only a small total magic capacity.
Even so, he shows enough courage to fight alongside far stronger allies, using basic magic to provide support and shift the tide of battle.
His rise to high minister is not just the result of scheming but also of his nerve and ability to act under pressure.
He is willing to stand on dangerous frontlines if it serves his political goals.
Darius is mentioned early on as the mastermind behind the attempted kidnapping of Eris Boreas Greyrat.
He is also named as the man responsible for sending assassins after Ariel Anemoi Asura, marking him as a central antagonist in Asura’s internal struggles.
His first direct on‑stage appearance comes relatively late, around what would be the equivalent of chapter 18 of the main storyline, close to the endgame of the Asura arc.
In the book version, additional scenes show him conspiring with First Prince Grabell to assassinate both Ariel and Rudeus Greyrat.
Connection with Hitogami
During the Asura succession conflict, Darius becomes a key pawn of Hitogami.
Because Ariel’s rise to the throne would be unfavorable to Hitogami’s plans, Darius is chosen as one of Hitogami’s apostles.
When the Asura king falls ill, Hitogami warns Darius that Rudeus Greyrat will kill him in the future.
Spurred by this prophecy, Darius starts plotting Rudeus’s assassination, trusting in Hitogami’s advice.
However, the presence and interference of Orsted, whose power disrupts future sight and prophetic schemes, greatly weaken Hitogami’s guidance.
In this environment, Hitogami’s usually precise advice becomes unreliable and incomplete.
Darius himself is not good at prediction and strategic foresight without perfect information.
Hitogami also fails to coordinate his apostles with one another, giving advice as if each of them were acting in isolation.
As a result, Darius’s moves become clumsy and self‑defeating.
He blindly follows instructions that do not account for Orsted’s interference or the actions of other apostles.
Downfall
On Hitogami’s suggestion, Darius destroys the Asura Kingdom’s transfer magic circle, a key strategic asset.
This act immediately raises suspicion and leads investigators to identify him as one of Hitogami’s apostles.
At the same time, he arranges for subordinates of Pilemon Notos Greyrat—who has betrayed Ariel—to be used as assassins.
This, however, backfires and exposes another apostle, allowing Ariel’s faction to fully grasp Hitogami’s network within Asura.
Darius also hires the assassin Ober, but later orders him to withdraw and shuts himself inside the royal capital.
By doing so, he abandons what little offensive initiative he has left.
With his options dwindling, his influence collapsing, and his enemies correctly reading his moves, Darius loses his position and power.
He ends up cornered with no effective strategy and no escape route, effectively strangled by the very guidance he trusted from Hitogami.
From a once‑capable, feared political mastermind, Darius Silva Ganius becomes an example of how blind reliance on a god’s prophecy can destroy even the most formidable schemer.
