Mikoto Yamato

A 16-year-old human girl with long black hair tied in a single ponytail and violet-blue eyes. Formerly a member of the Takemikazuchi Familia. She ranked up to Level 2 in Volume 4 of the main series and converted to the Hestia Familia for a one-year period to repay her debt to Bell, who was preparing for the War Game in Volume 6.

She met Bell while presenting a monster to save the injured Chigusa. She is extremely earnest, values manners, and is very loyal, making her a poor liar. She loves baths and is skilled in cooking. She reveres Takemikazuchi as a father figure and also admires him as a man. An orphan from the Far East, she grew up with the Takemikazuchi Familia and Haruhime as childhood friends. From a young age, she adored Haruhime, who was considered a "princess," and decided to receive the blessing of the gods to protect her.

In combat, she is an all-rounder capable of handling various roles, possessing exploration and detection skills to locate monsters and allies, and using gravity magic to crush those within her gravity barrier.

Her addition to the Hestia Familia was decided by the author just before writing Volume 6, as he felt that only having Lili and Welf was too plain. In the OVA released after the first season of the anime, scriptwriter Hideki Shirane expanded on her character, humorously depicting her love for hot springs.

Her alias is Absolute Shadow.
