Chizuru Ikeda is a second-year middle school student and the younger twin sister of Chitose Ikeda. She looks almost exactly like her sister, but has green, sharp eyes compared to Chitose’s blue, droopy ones. Chizuru is known for being cool and quiet, making it hard for others to approach her. Even so, she is working hard to make friends and sometimes asks Kyōko Toshinō for advice. Deep down, she cares about her sister a lot and hopes for Chitose's happiness. Like her sister, Chizuru enjoys yuri fantasy and drools when lost in her imagination. She is a loving sister at home and always tries her best to be kind.
Chizuru looks almost exactly like her twin sister, Chitose Ikeda.
She has green, sharp eyes, while Chitose has blue, droopy eyes.
She is 155cm tall.
Chizuru usually wears glasses.
If she takes them off, she enters her fantasy mode.
Chizuru is cool and doesn’t show much emotion.
People often feel nervous around her because she doesn’t smile much and acts serious.
At home, though, she is a kind and caring sister.
She can be a bit of a tomboy when she talks, mostly using standard language, but sometimes slips into her old Kansai accent.
Chizuru tries hard to make friends, even though socializing isn't easy for her.
She is shy, but also very determined.
Chizuru and her sister Chitose used to speak with a Kansai accent when they were younger but switched to standard speech after moving to their current home.
She is in class 2-1 and is 14 years old.
Her birthday is March 10th and her blood type is O.
Chizuru loves her sister more than anything and dislikes anyone who tries to get in the way of Chitose’s happiness, especially Kyōko Toshinō.
She once had a bad first meeting with Kyōko, who mistook her for Chitose and played a prank on her.
When Chizuru takes off her glasses, she starts daydreaming about yuri scenarios.
Unlike Chitose who gets nosebleeds, Chizuru drools when she fantasizes.
She can focus her mind strongly when in this mode.
- Chitose Ikeda (older twin sister): Chizuru cares deeply for her and loves spending time together. She often shares meals, bath time, and even crawls into Chitose’s bed to sleep together.
- Kyōko Toshinō: Chizuru doesn't like Kyōko, since she feels Kyōko gets in the way of what she wants for her sister and Ayano Sugiura's friendship.
- Ayano Sugiura: Chizuru likes imagining Chitose and Ayano together.
- Akari Akaza and Chinatsu Yoshikawa: They call her "Chizuru-senpai."
- Others: Friends and classmates like Rise Matsumoto and Sakurako Ohmuro also have their own nicknames for her.
Chizuru is called “Chizuru-senpai” or “Chizuru-chan” by various characters.
She mostly speaks in standard Japanese, but sometimes reverts back to Kansai dialect.
Compared to Chitose, Chizuru's fantasies are less direct; she doesn’t imagine as many physical acts.
She is a big sis-con (sister lover), wanting to be close to Chitose all the time.
Chizuru and Chitose only really look different in their eyes—green and sharp for Chizuru, blue and droopy for Chitose.
- "I'm fine. I’m definitely not drooling."
- "Dabaa..." (sound of drooling)
- "Shut up, go away!"
- "I was happy to do it with you. Thank you, Takane Dezaki, Haruka Koyama."
- "(Was Kyōko talking about a volleyball 'attack' yesterday? Maybe she was using volleyball as a joke after all…)"
Trouble Making Friends
Chizuru rarely smiled at school and found it hard to connect with others.
One day in the park, she met Kaede Furutani and talked about the book she was reading.
Kaede told her, "Your smile was wonderful!"
Chizuru was embarrassed, but replied, "I’ll try my best to smile more."
This moment made her want to change.
Getting Advice from Kyōko
Chizuru asked Kyōko Toshinō for tips on making friends.
Kyōko told her, “Just try being yourself and go for it!”
Chizuru thanked her and thought, “So maybe I should be more active.”
Volleyball Lesson
At gym class, Chizuru joined Takane Dezaki and Haruka Koyama in a volleyball team.
She wasn’t very good, but worked hard.
Although she got some scrapes and bruises, she finished the game and thanked her teammates for playing with her.
Later, her teammates brought sweets to school and the three shared them together.
For the first time, Chizuru felt like she had made real friends.
She also remembered meeting them before when they collected her printouts in volume 4.
Changing Feelings for Kyōko
At first, Chizuru disliked Kyōko and would sometimes hit her in the early anime seasons.
As time passed, especially in the OVA and later series, she did not act as mean toward Kyōko anymore.
In the manga and some bonus stories, you can see Chizuru’s feelings for Kyōko softening.
She even thinks of Kyōko as a "roly-poly doll" because of her persistence in being friendly.
This shows Chizuru's feelings are changing, though it takes time.
Chizuru in the anime is often seen with her glasses and has a serious look almost all the time.
She is in a different class from Kyōko Toshinō, Yui Funami, and Ayano Sugiura, so she wasn’t well known by them at the start.
Many characters have mistaken her for Chitose before.
She continues to move forward, slowly becoming more open and making new friends.
