Kenny Ackerman

Captain of the Anti-Personnel Control Squad of the First Interior Squad. Height: 190 cm. Weight: 120 kg. Known as "Kenny the Ripper," he is a notorious mass murderer. He has a past of slashing the throats of over a hundred Military Police in the capital Mitras, and is spoken of as an urban legend. His abilities, honed through a blood-soaked life, are exceptional, and he was once Levi's mentor. Originally, he acted to oppose the oppression of the Ackerman family by the royal government, but after meeting Uri Reiss, he became a member of the Interior Police. Subsequently, he carried out assassinations of key figures and established the Anti-Personnel Control Squad under the orders of the council to realize his own "dream."

He detected the betrayal of the Reeves Company, killed its president Dimo and two subordinates, kidnapped Eren and Historia, and framed the Survey Corps for their murder. Later, he led a squad equipped with anti-personnel vertical maneuvering equipment to ambush Levi and his group, but was forced to retreat after a counterattack. During the operation to reclaim Eren, he revealed his own goal of "stealing the power of the Reiss family's Titan," but learned that it was impossible with a bloodline other than the Reiss family. After losing all his subordinates in the cave collapse caused by Rod's transformation into a Titan, he was mortally wounded. Although he had the option to survive by using the Titan serum he had stolen from Rod, he chose not to. In his final moments, he revealed his relationship with Levi to him and entrusted the Titan serum to him before quietly passing away.

He was actually the brother of Levi's mother, Kuchel, making him Levi's maternal uncle. Neither Kuchel nor Kenny himself spoke of this due to the circumstances surrounding the Ackerman family, so Levi was unaware of his own lineage. Kenny took in the orphaned Levi and taught him hand-to-hand combat, assassination techniques, and other survival skills, but believing that his way of life was not suited to being a parent, he left Levi once he had gained sufficient strength.

Kenny was inspired by Trevor Philips, one of the protagonists of the game 'Grand Theft Auto V,' and Isayama created Kenny with the thought, "I want to draw a character like this."
