Erwin Smith

The 13th Commander of the Survey Corps. Height: 188 cm. Weight: 92 kg. Born on October 14th. He has a calm and intelligent personality. Although he appears gentle at first glance, his actions are driven by the advancement of humanity, and he possesses the resolve and ruthlessness to do whatever it takes to achieve his goals. He combines flexible thinking with bold decision-making, and his high leadership skills earn him deep trust from his subordinates. Five years ago, he was not the commander and was depicted fighting under the command of the 12th Commander, Keith, during expeditions outside the walls. Later, he devised the "Long-Distance Scouting Formation," significantly improving the survival rate of the Survey Corps. He welcomed the dangerous Eren into the Survey Corps, planned and led desperate operations such as exposing spies with Titan transformation abilities, rescuing Eren from the Armored Titan, and overthrowing the Fritz royal government, achieving success despite many sacrifices. His driving force was a past incident where, as a boy, he questioned his teacher father about humanity's history, which ultimately led to his father's secret assassination by the Military Police. This incident sparked Erwin's growing interest in the outside world. During the final operation to reclaim Wall Maria, he participated despite Levi's opposition, losing his right arm. He inspired the Survey Corps, which was in a state of collapse due to the Beast Titan's rock-throwing attack, and led a charge as a decoy, but suffered a fatal injury from a rock to the abdomen. He was carried by the surviving Floch to Levi and the others to be treated with Titan serum, but Levi, seeing Erwin return to his boyhood in his clouded consciousness, decided to use the serum on Armin, wanting to "free him from hell," and Erwin quietly passed away. He admired Marie, the wife of his friend and peer Nile Dok. Nile pointed out that he chose Titans (and fighting them) over the woman he loved. His character is modeled after Ozymandias from the original version of 'Watchmen.'
