Barry=Zalmore, one of the Four Beast Generals of the Dankai-shu, is a cyborg whose physical form has been reinforced with cursed tool mechanisms. He is not Japanese and often uses Western languages. He possesses a cursed tool known as the “Universal Bag,” which allows him to pull out a wide variety of tools from anywhere. He is also a skilled warrior, adept with Western swords and various cursed tools.

The reason for Barry’s joining the Dankai-shu has not been revealed, and his personality is the exact opposite of righteousness or helping others. He incurred the hatred of Shakugan by turning Shakugan into stone. At first, he underestimated Shinsuke Hyoudou, but after being punched in the face by him, Barry developed an obsession with relentlessly pursuing Shinsuke.

When Barry reappears, he has undergone further modification surgery at the hands of Yazen, acquiring many additional weapons. He gains the ability to fly and can now use “Roaring Ocean,” a strengthened technique derived from Roaring Heaven. Yazen considered these modifications to be little more than bundles of spare material that were originally scheduled for disposal, and saw no loss if Jinka Yamato’s party destroyed Barry, as it would simply spare him the trouble.

Ultimately, Barry’s armaments are destroyed by Shinsuke’s “Heaven and Earth Split,” and Barry dies after losing his spiritual power. At that moment, when Shinsuke delivers his final blow against Yazen, he shouts out Barry’s name, along with Shakugan and Higan.
