Shinra Kusakabe

The protagonist of this work, a second-class firefighter assigned to Special Fire Force Company 8. He is 17 years old, with a height of 173 cm, and his birthday is October 29. He has short black hair and distinctive sanpaku eyes. He can emit flames from his feet, which he uses for a wide range of applications such as attack, defense, and movement. As a third-generation pyrokinetic, he primarily uses flame-wrapped kicks as his weapon, adhering to his belief that "heroes fight with kicks." He is a user of a special flame called "Adolla Burst" and is referred to as the "Fourth Pillar" by the Evangelist's followers.

From a young age, he admired the image of a hero, but 12 years ago, a sudden fire claimed the lives of his mother and newborn brother. Because he could emit flames from his feet, he was persecuted by those around him who believed the fire was caused by his own abilities. However, he witnessed another person in the room during the fire, leading him to suspect that person might be the culprit.

Since the incident, he has struggled with controlling his emotions and expressions, often showing an awkward smile when feeling tense or scared. This habit makes him appear to be smiling even in tense situations, earning him the nickname "devil" behind his back. His ability leaves scorched footprints on the ground, which are called "devil's footprints."

Officially, he claims he joined the fire force to become a hero, but his true motives are to prevent more victims like his mother and brother and to catch the murderer to clear the false accusations against him. After graduating from the academy, he was assigned to Special Fire Force Company 8.

During a battle with the Evangelist's followers, he reunites with his brother Sho and vows to bring him back. In an attempt to counter Sho's ability to stop time, he becomes capable of moving at super-high speeds during an Adolla Link, enough to keep up with Sho's time-stopped state. He also learns from Burns that his mother, thought to be dead, is still alive in the form of an Infernal, and he decides to find a way to turn her back into a human.

Following the activation of a great disaster, he, along with other Adolla Burst users, disappears and loses consciousness, but wakes up after Arthur defeats a dragon. The disaster is completed due to Akitaru being killed by his doppelganger, leading to an assimilation with Adolla. Enraged and unable to stop Sho or kill Haumea, he regains his sanity when Arthur arrives. Later, with the help of Sho and Mari, Shinra transforms into the omnipotent "All Creation Man," overpowering the now-deified Haumea.

Shinra creates a world without the great disaster, losing his pyrokinetic abilities and the power of Adolla Burst. After the disaster is averted, he joins the World Heroes Association along with Arthur and Ogun, and 25 years later, he becomes the supreme captain of the World Heroes Association.
