Yuri Isami

Yuri has short, teal colored hair, teal eyes, pale white skin, a double lobe piercing on his right ear and a single lobe piercing on his left.

He is usually seen wearing his school uniform, which consists of a white button up shirt beneath a black buttoned up blazer, black pants, a black and teal necktie and white gloves.

He is also seen wearing his lab uniform which consists of a grey button up shirt, black pants, a black necktie with a teal stripe down the center, black gloves, a black leather chest harness, a black choker and an unbuttoned white lab coat.

Yuri is an arrogant, snobby, and ambitious man with a lot of confidence in his abilities, calling himself the "genius and visionary Dr. Yuri Isami".

He is hardworking and determined, as he has a goal of being the pioneer of anomalous medical science.

His desire to be acknowledged by the world is his main motivator in making progress in his research, so he takes his duties as a physician seriously and puts his all into everything he does.

Yuri is diligent in his studies and expresses pride in his accomplishments, having a habit of showing off while taking pleasure in being recognized and praised. He is also fiercely competitive and tends to be quite aggressive with those he considers his rivals. He often flaunts his knowledge while looking down on others he deems less intelligent than himself.

In contrast to his stoic assistant, Jiro, Yuri appears to be a very expressive and easily flustered person. He is short-tempered and has difficulty controlling his emotions.

He has some quirks, like humming classical music and having a poor sense of direction. As apparent from his Affinity 23 and 24 dialogues, Yuri struggles with the idea of losing patients.

In Episode 14: The Infectious Death Wish when two of Frostheim students humiliated Yuri during a medical check-up, Yuri raises his voice at them, but shortly after is speechless. When the two students leave Yuri starts crying, revealing that he might be a much more sensitive and insecure person than he appears.

Yuri was originally from Frostheim, before he transferred to Mortkranken.

According to Frostheim students, Yuri spent his days in Frostheim protected by Jin (although Yuri claims he suffered doing research there) and Jin covered up some medical mistakes Yuri made. Frostheim students also stated that while Jin did everything to support Yuri, Yuri betrayed him running away to Mortkranken. Though, Yuri claims that it was Jin who betrayed him instead.

It is also revealed that during his days in Frostheim, he was hated by the students of his own house due to his behavior.

• Stigma — Yuri's stigma is triggered with "Agnihaet", and Jiro states it hyperstimulates his brain cells, allowing him to logically process information and solve complex equations almost instantly. "Agnihaet" is an anagram of the Ars Goetia demon "Haagenti".

• Enhanced recovery — As revealed in Episode 3, and Lucas' Chapter 1 Affinity conversation with the MC, ghouls can recover from their physical injuries five times faster than that of their non-ghoul counterparts as long as they are tended to correctly.

• Enhanced physical strength — According to Professor Hyde in the prologue, one of the traits unique to ghouls are their enhanced strength.

• Enhanced durability — In order to successfully become a ghoul, a person's durability must be able to take the devouring of a demon after a pact is done without suffering any fatal consequences or losing all willpower.

• Immunity to Mesmer Matches — Like the effect of the Kyklos' curse on the MC, it is revealed in Episode 4 that ghouls are also immune to the effects of the mesmer matches.
