Character Introduction

The Master Architect of the "Guild," a 28-year-old young man with his eyes hidden by his bangs. He refers to himself as "Wagahai." Birthday: January 19th, Height: 182 cm, Weight: 64 kg, Blood Type: A. Likes: Mystery novels, raccoons. Dislikes: Large group conversations, being left alone at a party he was invited to. He is accompanied by a raccoon named Karl (voiced by Ayaka Nanase). He is a detective and intellectual giant from the United States, the only person who has ever made Ranpo break a sweat in a battle of wits. He possesses a vast fortune, so much so that he considers 20 million yen an amount he would forget paying the next day. He has also mastered various skills such as disguise and sniping.
Six years ago, he lost a battle of wits to Ranpo and, seeking revenge, lured Ranpo and Yosano with information about the blind spots and strategies to defeat the White Whale, challenging them to a game of deduction. However, he was defeated by Ranpo once again. When Ranpo acknowledged and remembered him, he returned to the world of creation.
After leaving the "Guild," he stayed in Japan and frequently visited the Detective Agency to bring Ranpo his new mystery novels. During the "Eyes of God" incident, he visited the Detective Agency at Alcott's request to ask Ranpo to find the true culprit. When the Detective Agency and the Mafia began an all-out war due to "Cannibalism," Ranpo used a novel he wrote as a distraction for Chūya. He also assisted Ranpo in searching for Mushitaro, writing a text that drew them into an ability space to corner Mushitaro. When the Detective Agency was framed as terrorists, he hid the escaped Mushitaro at his home and, after reuniting with Ranpo, helped in various ways to rescue the agency members.
The Black Cat of the Rue Morgue
An ability that draws readers into the world of the novels he writes. Within the novel's world, readers cannot use their abilities. They can escape if they solve the case, but if they become a victim within the story, they die in reality as well. It can also be used as an "emergency refuge," but if the novel itself is destroyed, there is a possibility they can never escape. The act of "reading" is not necessarily required; Chūya was drawn in just by sticking his arm into the book. It also does not need to be in book form; it can activate with manuscript paper or text displayed on a phone screen.
There is a restriction that it must maintain a semblance of a mystery to function as a room, and due to his pride, he is reluctant to create non-mystery novels (such as those with simple math problems as solutions). The ability's name comes from the American literary giant Edgar Allan Poe's novels "The Murders in the Rue Morgue" and "The Black Cat."
