Character Introduction

Edit
A small-statured 26-year-old man who is always smiling and wears a brown suit in a disorderly manner with a hunting cap.
Birthday: October 21. Height: 168 cm. Weight: 57 kg. Blood type: O. Likes: rational thinking, fantasy, and mystery. He often eats cheap sweets, possibly indicating a preference for sweets. Dislikes: common sense, useless knowledge.
He shows arrogance and childish behavior by making statements directly to detectives such as "police are unnecessary," but he is highly regarded in the detective agency due to his "ability" (actually, not an ability). He respects Fukuzawa from a past incident and would easily change his opinion to cooperate if praised by him.
Despite his excellent deductive skills, he lacks common sense and doesn't even know how to ride a train. However, he was astonished when Poe's underground bidding spent 20 million effortlessly. During a murder case he accompanied Atsushi on, he bowed to the corpse, showing he has minimal common sense. His deduction process includes understanding the victim's and perpetrator's feelings, and his confident words also comforted Yosano when recruiting her to the detective agency, indicating his actions are backed by superior deductive skills and confidence. Despite being a realist, he was logically opposed to rescuing Atsushi when he was captured by Akutagawa, considering it as Atsushi's problem (likely due to Atsushi being new to the agency).
He has the ability to deduce events and people's pasts at a glance. According to Dazai, he is "transcendent beyond even the ability users" and "the strongest man in the detective agency." He deduced Fukuzawa's past and even made Fukuzawa remark "he's the real deal." During the establishment of the detective agency, at Fukuzawa's request, he located the highly elusive Natsume Soseki. After the war, he helped Yosano escape a facility and recruited her to the agency while Mori and Fukuzawa were engaged in a battle to prevent her from joining the mafia.
During the Tri-Agency War, he realized his "super deduction" is not an actual ability but continued to pretend as such since it was too late to change his image. When Fukuzawa's life was threatened by Dostoevsky's schemes, he used his full intellectual capacity to analyze the situation and devise strategies seriously for the first time. However, upon realizing the complexity of Dostoevsky's traps, he decided to fight the Port Mafia contrary to Fukuzawa's orders, forcing the agency members to choose participation. He then appeared before Chuuya Nakahara and, with a story written by Poe, dragged himself and Chuuya into it to stall him. After Dostoevsky’s arrest, he searched for Oguri Mushitaro to prove Kunikida’s innocence and to address a girl's death caused by his failure to see through Dostoevsky’s false evidence. With Poe, he encountered Mushitaro's staged body fall incident, deducing Mushitaro was alive and had merely assisted in a friend's suicide. He advised Mushitaro to surrender and join the Special Operations Division. However, immediately after, Mushitaro was kidnapped by "The Five Treasures of Heaven," triggering his solo actions against accepting a request to prevent their crimes. During the investigation, he found the injured Commissioner Taneda and learned about "The Book," only to be framed as the assailant. Although he attempted to flee, he was cornered by the military police but managed to escape during the initial confusion and regrouped with Poe. They hijacked the enemy's extermination plan and sequentially rescued monitored colleagues. Under Fukuzawa’s instructions, he contacted Fukuchi and sought cooperation. While trying to escape to the port on a passenger ship with foreign ambassadors, he realized that "super deduction" did not help, mistakenly led by Fukuchi. Nevertheless, at Poe's request, he deduced on the ship and discovered Fukuchi was the leader of "The Five Treasures of Heaven," Kamui. Sensing this, he was attacked but narrowly escaped into Poe’s novel space, leaving the rest to Atsushi. Upon Atsushi's return, he gathered the agency members in the fictional space, instructing them to prevent the delivery of the "Great Command" and eliminate Bram Stoker. Following Atsushi’s communication, he went with Fukuzawa to confront Fukuchi, aiming to trap him in Poe’s novel. However, Fukuchi noticed using "Time Traversing" and made him a hostage. As Fukuzawa defeated Fukuchi and Bram regained the power to control vampires, he negotiated with Bram to kill Dostoevsky. Subsequently, facing Dostoevsky disguised as Bram and aiming to stop Fukuchi from stabbing with a divine sword, he encountered the "Tri-polar Singularity."
