Sōun Ebisugawa

The head of the Ebisugawa family. He is the younger brother of Sōichirō and the uncle of Yasaburō and his siblings, with his real name being "Sōjirō." He married into the Ebisugawa family from the Shimogamo family, but according to the Shimogamo mother and Yaichirō, it was originally arranged in advance with the Ebisugawa family when their father (Yasaburō's grandfather) proposed resolving the feud between the Shimogamo and Ebisugawa families. He has been estranged from his older brother Sōichirō for several years, and since then, the Shimogamo family and the Ebisugawa family have been at odds. He has a mean-spirited personality. He is running in the next "Nise-emon" election and uses his position as the supplier of fake electric brandy to wield influence in the tanuki world. Although he has some affection for his children, his bad personality and poor taste have given him a bad reputation.

After his series of machinations in the next "Nise-emon" election became public, he disappeared but reappeared six months later as a new member of the Friday Club, succeeding Yodogawa. However, during a Friday Club banquet, he was enraged when Yasaburō, through Benten's scheme, took the seat of Hotei from him. He transformed into an oni but was shot by Tenmaya and died in Yasaburō's arms.

However, the sequence from the shooting to his death was all a staged act in collusion with Tenmaya, and he stayed in Kyoto in the guise of his son, Goejirō. He was witnessed reconciling with the Shimogamo family and secretly meeting with Tenmaya by Kaisei. He also attempted to frame the Shimogamo family for his assassination by placing the air rifle he bought from Tenmaya in Yashirō's laboratory, trying to prevent Yaichirō's appointment as Nise-emon. However, his true identity was revealed just before the plan could succeed, and the air rifle he bought from Tenmaya turned out to be a fake. In his anger, he lashed out at Tenmaya, but both were dragged to hell by an oni summoned by Benten from a hellish painting.
