An old man with dreadlocks and a scar near his left eye, wearing a black hat and carrying a cane. He looks down on humans as "insects" and is arrogant enough not to care about their sacrifices.

He is a user of the Zoan-type Devil Fruit, which allows him to transform into a mythical creature with the head of a bull and the body of a spider, known as "Ushi-Oni". He also possesses abilities such as emitting light from his eyes to remotely deliver shocks and using invisible forces to immobilize his opponents. When he becomes violent, he transforms into a beast form and his legs are coated with poison.

He has a deep connection with Bartholomew Kuma, and 38 years ago at God Valley, he encountered Kuma attempting to escape from the island. The drug experiments Saturn performed on Jeannie caused her death due to the development of Blue Jade Scales, a disease that was also inherited by her daughter, Bonnie. Saturn also conducted experiments on the infant Bonnie, administering Devil Fruit extracts to induce abilities. When Vegapunk was modifying Kuma's body to create clone soldiers, Saturn ordered Kuma to join the Seven Warlords of the Sea and to relinquish all thoughts and self-awareness. Saturn met Vegapunk only once, when he received the Iber Prize.

In the Egghead Arc, Saturn heads to Egghead to assassinate Vegapunk and appears on the island in a monstrous state from a magic circle. He defeats Bonnie, who attacks him, and captures her, but is then struck by a powerful blow from Kuma and loses her. He regenerates instantly and battles Luffy in Gear 5 state, briefly making contact with Ogre and Devon who had arrived on the island. When Vegapunk's broadcast begins, he gathers the remaining four Elders at Egghead to stop the broadcast.
