Raised in the holy land of archaeology, Ohara, she became an excellent archaeologist who earned a doctorate at a young age. Her dream is to see the "True History's Text (Rio Poneglyph)," an artifact that records the truth of history.

The sole survivor of Ohara, a land annihilated by the government, she is able to decipher the forbidden ancient script, which led the government to continually pursue her as the "Devil's Child." To survive, she navigated the underworld, trusting no one, but upon meeting the Straw Hat crew, she opened her heart and even came to want to be a part of their strength. As she continues her adventure with Luffy and the others, she approaches the lost truth of history!
