Hajime Owari

Hotaru disappeared and was replaced by Hajime Owari. She left an excellent academic record at the prestigious Chiyoda Hitotsubashi University's School of Political Science and Economics, acquiring various qualifications before dropping out. She is a 20-year-old woman currently job hunting. She wears glasses and is left-handed, born on January 1st.

She was training at the convenience store chain "Town Mart" opposite Shikada Dagashi but was fired after oversleeping and being late throughout the training period. Homeless and in trouble, she happened to pass by Shikada Dagashi, begged on her knees, and was reluctantly hired by Kokonotsu with an agreement to pay her entire salary as rent, becoming a live-in employee. She lacks knowledge about dagashi but is otherwise well-educated and insightful, working with Kokonotsu to improve the management of Shikada Dagashi. She once scored in the 700s on the TOEIC.

She confidently handles web languages like HTML and JavaScript, which she considers part of "compulsory education." However, when Kokonotsu suggested launching an online store, she got carried away, creating a page resembling a brothel, and they eventually gave up on the idea. She also has a deep appreciation for arts and culture, can draw manga, and has knowledge about manga newcomer awards, telling Kokonotsu, "You tried hard, but it's clear you would fail," after seeing his submission. Her past is shrouded in mystery.

Despite her messy hair and droopy eyes, she surprisingly has a good figure. Kokonotsu, who decided to hire Hajime, was told by Yō that he hired her because he was "blatantly lecherous." She has a good personality, never speaks ill of others, but according to Kokonotsu, "she's a bit absent-minded and has many flaws."

The author mentions that each character has one or two favorite elements; for Hajime, it's "glasses" and "recruit suit." Therefore, she continues to wear her recruit suit even after securing a job.
