Kaguya Sumeragi

Despite her youthful appearance, Kaguya carries herself with the maturity and grace of a seasoned leader. She refuses to be a mere figurehead, possessing a strong will and unwavering personal convictions.

She has a more playful and girlish side, particularly regarding her intense infatuation with Zero. From their very first meeting, she boldly declares herself "Zero's wife" and remains devoted to him.

Surprisingly, she shows a tolerant and open-minded attitude, even stating she would be fine with Zero having relationships with other women. C.C. praised her as a "kind person" for her ability to see past Lelouch's actions and understand a part of his true, gentle nature.

Kaguya is the current head of the Sumeragi family, a clan descended from a former zaibatsu, and serves as the chief of the secret organization known as Kyoto.

Her family has several branches, including the one in the former Hokkaido Block led by Jugo Ko and his daughter, Sakuya Sumeragi, with whom she shares a very close blood relation.

Suzaku Kururugi

He is Kaguya's cousin, but she harbors a deep dislike for him due to his decision to serve the Holy Britannian Empire.

Zero (Lelouch Lamperouge)

She developed a powerful fixation on Zero after the Suzaku Kururugi abduction incident. Even after his identity and alleged betrayal were revealed, she never showed any hatred towards him, continuing to refer to him respectfully.

Tianzi

During her exile in the Chinese Federation following the Black Rebellion, Kaguya formed a close and genuine friendship with the young empress.

The Black Rebellion

When the other Six Houses of Kyoto sought to save themselves during the massacre at the Special Administrative Zone, Kaguya rallied them to join Zero. She fought alongside the Black Knights, commanding the rear guard forces from the G-1 Base during the Black Rebellion.

After the rebellion's failure, she was forced to seek asylum in the Chinese Federation.

The Second Uprising

She officially rejoined the Black Knights during the Pacific Surprise Attack. Upon the formation of the United Federation of Nations, Kaguya was appointed as Japan's representative and the Chairwoman of the U.F.N. Supreme Council.

She was away on a separate mission during the invasion of the Kagoshima concession and thus was not present for Schneizel's plot to have Zero exiled. She only learned of Lelouch's secrets and Geass after she returned.

Later, when she was taken hostage by Emperor Lelouch, she showed no ill will toward him. After being rescued from the Avalon, her continued respect for him led C.C. to recognize Kaguya's unique insight into his character.

After the Zero Requiem

In *Lelouch of the Re;surrection*, a 17-year-old Kaguya has become the Prime Minister of Japan, having taken over the position from Ohgi. When sending vital information for Nunnally's rescue, she thoughtfully includes a video of Ohgi and Villetta's wedding, hoping that Lelouch might be alive to see it.

In Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture

Kaguya makes a brief appearance in Act 1 and plays a larger role from Act 3 onward. At the request of Cornelia, acting on behalf of the Black Knights, she resumes her position as Chairwoman of the U.F.N. Supreme Council.

She takes the lead in peace negotiations with the Neo-Britannian Empire. Following the emergence of Loki, she delivers a powerful speech to the U.F.N. nations, reminding them that there are still people fighting for justice.

In the Asuka Manga

In this adaptation, the character Diethard Ried is absent. As a result, it is Kaguya who declares Zero's expulsion from the Black Knights. After the war, she becomes the representative of Japan.

In Nightmare of Nunnally

In this spin-off, Kaguya's interest in Zero is sparked by the hotel hijacking incident. She becomes a comprehensive supporter of the Black Knights, supplying them with materiel including the Burai and Guren Type-02 Knightmare Frames.
