Spinel Sun

Spinel Sun's usual appearance is that of a black cat with bright emerald eyes.

He has small wings on his back and his symbol is the sun.

In his true form, he looks like a black panther with emerald green spots, butterfly wings, and his tail curls into spiral shapes near the end.

When in his usual small form, he is often shown as soft and plush-like, especially when pretending to be a stuffed animal.

Spinel Sun speaks politely and often uses respectful language.

He is calm and smart, always thinking carefully before acting.

However, when he eats sweets, he acts as if he is drunk—saying funny things and behaving like a child.

Because of this, he tries very hard to avoid sweet food.

Spinel Sun was created by Eriol Hiiragizawa as one of his magical guardians.

He first appears during the Sakura Card arc, joining the story after the Clow Card arc has ended.

Spinel Sun was made to serve and support Eriol Hiiragizawa, playing an important part in his plans.

Spinel Sun has many magical powers.

Introduction in the Sakura Card Arc

Spinel Sun is first shown in the Sakura Card arc as Eriol Hiiragizawa's magical servant.

He comes to Japan to help Eriol in his secret mission involving the Sakura Cards.

Life in Japan and Pretending to be a Plush Toy

After arriving in Japan, Spinel Sun begins living with Sakura Kinomoto.

He pretends to be a stuffed animal when people are around so that no one discovers his true nature.

He tries to stay close to Keroberos, forming a fun friendship and rivalry.

Helping During the Clear Card Arc

At the start of the Clear Card arc, Spinel Sun remains in England.

But, because Keroberos and Yue lose some of their magical power, Eriol Hiiragizawa sends his magic along with Nakuru Akizuki (Ruby Moon) and Spinel Sun to Japan.

Spinel Sun helps restore and balance the magical powers for the guardians and lives at Sakura Kinomoto’s house to do so.

In the second movie, Spinel Sun appears as Keroberos's rival inside a video game.

He also shows his powers and funny side during different adventures in both the anime and the movies.
