Character Introduction

Edit
A Danish warrior who loves battle. He is the leader of the Jomsvikings and the younger brother of Sigvaldi, Thorfinn's maternal grandfather, making him Thorfinn's great-uncle. He boasts an enormous physique and is a top-class demon general not only in the Jomsvikings but also in the Danish army. Despite being over 50 years old, his monstrous strength from his massive body remains intact, possessing strength far beyond that of ordinary people.
He has a strong pride in the way of the "warrior" and wishes to be led to Valhalla by the Valkyries, willing to switch sides to seek a good fight. Conversely, he mercilessly slaughters those who switch sides out of fear for their lives. He has a straightforward and friendly personality, earning him immense popularity among his subordinates and even among the generals of the Danish kingdom he once betrayed. He is afraid of frogs.
He was once one of the four battalion commanders of the Jomsvikings and held strong friendship and respect for Thors, the only warrior stronger than himself and also a battalion commander. He rejoiced upon reuniting with Thors, who was thought to have died in battle, but upon learning of Thors' desertion plan, he became enraged and challenged him to a fight for punishment, only to be defeated and allow the desertion. He later regrets not following Thors, who came to understand what a "true warrior" is.
Seeking a challenging battle, he defected from the Danish army to the English side and became the commander of London. After defeating Prince Canute in the Battle of London, he pursued Askeladd's band to reclaim Canute, whom he had once taken prisoner. He nearly annihilated Askeladd's band by slaughtering most of the warriors who betrayed Askeladd and surrendered.
Later, he duels with Thorfinn over Askeladd's custody, overwhelming and cornering Thorfinn. However, after receiving advice from Askeladd, Thorfinn strikes Thorkell's weak point, his jaw, and defeats him, leading Thorkell to acknowledge his defeat. During this duel, Thorkell loses his left eye to Thorfinn. He then sees a mysterious gleam in Canute's eyes similar to Thors' and decides to follow Canute, rejoining the Danish army and becoming a prominent general for Prince Canute.
He is later entrusted with governing the pacified territories but becomes so starved for battle due to the peace that he attempts to intervene in domestic disputes. Leaving Canute, he visits the Jomsvikings' camp upon Floki's request to subdue Vagn and reunites with Thorfinn, revealing to Floki that Thorfinn is Thors' son. He then sets out to subdue Vagn but learns that Vagn was killed by Garm, who had infiltrated the Jomsvikings, and becomes furious at having his prey stolen. He aims to overthrow Floki by incorporating Vagn's battalion. Although he refuses to listen to Floki's persuasion, he engages in a duel with Garm, who is sent to him, and ends in a draw. During the assault on Jomsborg, he suffers severe burns from being set on fire after logs are dropped on him but quickly recovers, breaks through the gate, and defeats Ymir, who stands in his way, after an evenly matched battle.
After the war, when Thorfinn, who temporarily took the position of leader, declares the disbandment of the Jomsvikings, Thorkell reveals to the Jomsvikings that there was a secret order from Canute, forcing the disbandment at Thorfinn's request. Thorkell then challenges Thorfinn to a duel in return, but the duel is called off due to Gudrid's desperate mediation.
